The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Akiyama misses with a wild combination.
Akiyama swats away the attempt to clinch by Hakkonson.
Hakkonson takes a punch to the jaw and another one to the bread basket.

It looks like Hakkon Hakkonson has been cut.

Akiyama clinches up with Hakkonson and pushes him back against the cage.
Hakkonson jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Akiyama walks away with a smile on his face. Hakkonson gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head.
Akiyama tries to bum rush Hakkonson with a series of wild strikes but Hakkonson uses good footwork to avoid the assault.
Akiyama throws a series of strikes that have Hakkonson backpedaling.
Akiyama misses with a two punch combination.
A nice combination there by Akiyama.
This has been an exciting period of action!

Akiyama instigates a clinch.
A battle for position here, against the cage.
Akiyama works for underhooks and lands a body shot in the process.
Hakkonson tries a knee to the head but he's missed.
Hakkonson takes a shot to the head.
Akiyama gets through Hakkonson's defenses to land a nice punch to the side of the head.

That has opened up Hakkon Hakkonson's cut even more.
Still in the clinch, Akiyama scores with a nice short uppercut.
Akiyama throws a big uppercut that drops Hakkonson! More strikes from Akiyama and the referee jumps in to stop the fight! Hakkonson lies dazed against the cage as Akiyama celebrates with his cornermen!
