PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Danny Lynch (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Bobby Moore (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Bobby Moore told me before the fight that he's been watching a lot of DVDs so let's see if that helps him in this one! I can't wait to find out!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of London, Danny Lynch!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of London, Bobby Moore!
The judges for this bout are William Gold, Donald Grub and Sam Margolis.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Moore swinging wildly here.
Some wild striking there from Lynch.
Lynch changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Moore tries to avoid it but Lynch manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Moore to the ground. Moore escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
Moore misses with an uppercut.

Moore misses with a double jab.
Lynch closes the distance and clinches up with Moore, looking for a takedown. Lynch pushes Moore against the cage but Moore circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.
Lynch uses decent footwork to sidestep a right hand from Moore.
Moore misses with a two punch combination.

Lynch rushes Moore and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch.
Moore gets underhooks to prevent Lynch's takedown attempt.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Danny Lynch. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Moore tries to pull guard but Lynch holds him up against the cage and eventually Moore drops back down to his feet.
Lynch lands a hook that snaps the head of Moore backwards.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Moore breaks from the clinch.
Moore looks to land a combination but Lynch avoids it well.

Moore shoots in for a takedown from distance. He catches Lynch napping and manages to drive through into side control!
Lynch is trying to buck Moore off.
A bit of a lull in the action. I'm sure it will pick up again soon... even if the ref has to physically pick them up and put them back on their feet.

Lynch prevents Moore from moving into mount.
Lynch wants to get back to his feet but Moore drags him back down.
Moore wants to lay and pray for a moment but Lynch keeps working.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.

The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up.

Moore decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard.
Moore is stalling here. Lynch is in no mood to hang around though. He's locked up a kimura from the bottom! Moore seems to be keeping calm but he's forced to roll out of the hold and Lynch has ended up in side control on the top. Nice work.

Lynch decides to stand up, so the ref orders Moore to his feet.
Horrible takedown by Lynch or perhaps it was just good defense by Moore which made him look bad.
Lynch is looking to clinch.
Lynch tries to close the distance and clinch but Moore swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.
Moore misses with a takedown attempt - Lynch sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.

Moore feints and as Lynch raises his hands in defense, Moore changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Moore wants to pass the guard but Lynch is keeping the position.
Moore trying to control but Lynch is working from the bottom.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Moore is in a good position here but he's just trying to control... And he's not even managing to do that successfully.
Moore is looking to advance position but Lynch has hit a scissor sweep - now he's on top in mount!

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.

Lynch goes for an armbar but he's not got it… Moore turns into him and now he's in Lynch's guard.
Lynch wants to stand up but Moore is controlling him.
Lynch utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound.
Lynch is wriggling around but Moore manages to pass to half guard.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Bobby Moore dominated that round.
The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action!


Moore looks to land a combination but Lynch avoids it well.
Moore shoots in for a takedown but Lynch shows good takedown defense.

and Moore counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground.
Moore trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet.

Lynch pushes Moore off and gets back to his feet.
Moore throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.
Moore throws a wild combination but nothing lands.
Lynch tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion.

Moore tries to keep at a distance but Lynch has taken the fight into the clinch.

Moore is trying to slow the pace down but that's a couple of times in a row that he's tried to get underhooks and Lynch has denied him.
Moore tries to pull guard but Lynch holds him up against the cage and eventually Moore drops back down to his feet.
Moore takes a shot to the head.
Moore gets underhooks to prevent Lynch's takedown attempt.
Lynch lands a right uppercut that snaps the head of Moore backwards.
Moore wants to break free but Lynch has control.
Moore tries for a takedown but Lynch manages to get underhooks.
Danny Lynch has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Bobby Moore.
Moore tries to pull guard but Lynch won't allow it.
With the fighters clinched against the cage, Lynch creates a bit of distance for himself and scores with a nice uppercut.

Lynch working on landing some head shots here - that one got through nicely.
Lynch has a body lock and is looking for a takedown. Moore is bouncing around trying to prevent the takedown and somehow he has indeed managed to stay on his feet.

Moore circles away from the clinch attempt.
Lynch misses with a series of wild punches.

and Lynch moves into the clinch.

Lynch turns his hips and lands a very nice judo throw into side control!
Lynch happy to just control the position for now.

Moore bucks up and manages to escape back to his feet!
Moore throws a series of punches but Lynch moves out of range.
Lynch slips a jab and a cross from Moore.
Lynch misses with a double jab.
Danny Lynch is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
Lynch closes the distance looking to clinch
and Moore counters with a left and a right that stings Lynch.
Lynch shoots in for a takedown but Moore shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet.

and Moore counters with a nice double leg into half guard.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

Moore is trying to control. Lynch wants to improve his position but can't escape this time.

Bobby Moore has got the better of the ground game so far.
Lynch is refusing to be controlled, as Moore sits in half guard.

Moore is working for a kimura but Lynch is defending it quite comfortably.
Moore wants to lay and pray for a moment but Lynch keeps working.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.
Neither fighter is being very active at the moment, with Moore in particular looking to stall.
Lynch wants to get back to his feet.

It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground.
Moore shoots in looking for a takedown. Lynch tries to sprawl out of it but Moore keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Lynch manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.
Lynch misses with the combination.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Bobby Moore showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
That's time! Back to the action! This is the final round!



Lynch drives through with a takedown into guard.

Moore scrambles and gets back to his feet.
Moore looks to score with a combo but nothing lands.
Moore thuds his right hand into Lynch's forehead from close range. That could be painful for both fighters.
Moore scores with a three punch combo!
Lynch changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Moore tries to avoid it but Lynch manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Moore to the ground. Moore escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
Moore shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Lynch but Lynch pushes him off and we're back to square one.
Moore tries to clinch but Lynch is having none of it.
Moore throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
Moore looks to score with a jab to the body but Lynch is just out of range.
Moore lands a really nice looking cross but Lynch seems unphased.
Lynch shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Moore sprawls well. Moore wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Lynch gets slowly back to his feet.

Lynch shoots in with a lovely double leg takedown. Moore manages to land in full guard to minimise the damage.
Moore takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.

Lynch trying to control the position from guard on top but Moore is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.

Moore has butterfly guard. He's looking to stand up here. He pushes Lynch off him and springs to his feet nicely. The crowd applauds.
Moore shoots in for a takedown but Lynch shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet.

Moore drives through with a really nice takedown into side control.
Lynch is looking to work his way out of this bad position but Moore is controlling him well.

Moore is in a dominant position here, looking for a kimura. Lynch looks calm but he's in trouble here. Moore gets his leg over his opponent's head and yanks on the arm. Lynch is tapping like a morse code operator on the titanic! SOS! SOS! Moore lets go of the hold and Lynch can pop his arm back in it's socket.
