The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
hershcovich shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Malsi as he jumps to the side.
Malsi swats away the attempt to clinch by hershcovich.

and hershcovich counters with a big head kick but Malsi shrugs it off.
hershcovich could do with loosing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely.
Malsi closes the distance and clinches up with hershcovich, looking for a takedown. Malsi pushes hershcovich against the cage but hershcovich circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.

The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.
hershcovich had isolated an arm as going for an omaplata. Malsi is defending the submission well but is in a very vulnerable position. hershcovich Is leaning forward trying to finish the omaplata but decides to abandon it, and take Malsi's back instead.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

Malsi breaks hershcovich's hooks off and manages to turn into his guard.
Malsi is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long.

hershcovich will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.

Malsi has his foot on hershcovich's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. hershcovich works his way back into a safe position though.

Malsi has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but hershcovich can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.

That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to yecutiel hershcovich.
Well hershcovich has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
