Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between John Hayes (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Roger Dodger (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Roger Dodger!
The judges for this bout are Summer Carpenter, Eliza Hachem and Hugh Johnson.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Hayes misses with a two punch combination.
Dodger moves in looking to clinch but Hayes pushes him off.
Dodger should think about turning a few of those tyres round his middle into muscle if he wants people to take him seriously as an athlete.
Dodger avoids a lazy jab quite easily.
No luck for Dodger with that takedown attempt.
Hayes takes a swing at Dodger's ribcage but misses.
Hayes misses with a few strikes there.

Hayes throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Dodger.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Hayes tests Dodger's chin there with a solid looking shot.
Hayes stalks Dodger and leaps in with a furious combination of punches. Uppercuts and crosses smash into Dodger's face. Dodger staggers backwards, shaken.

We're hearing some news coming in from back stage. It's official - Dodger has eaten all the pies!

The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!


Dodger throws and low kick but Hayes moves out of range easily.
Hayes misses with a few strikes there.
Hayes swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
Hayes checks a low kick from Dodger.
Hayes fakes low and throws an overhand right that catches Dodger on the side of the head.
Dodger shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Hayes but Hayes pushes him off and we're back to square one.
Dodger steps to the side to avoid the strikes from Hayes.
Dodger takes one on the chin but keeps coming.
Hayes jabs at Dodger's body.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
Hayes misses with a leg kick

and Dodger counters into the clinch. Nicely done.
Dodger is trying to slow down the pace in the clinch, to catch his breath.

Hayes breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Hayes throws a combination that misses

and Dodger counters with a takedown into side control.
Hayes is trying to stand back up. He's worked his way up against the cage but Dodger has just dragged him back down to the mat.

Dodger slows the pace down.
Dodger trying to control the position but Hayes is working away.
Hayes is trying to buck Dodger off.
Dodger has knee on belly and moves into mount.
Hayes is trying to escape but when you're mounted that's not too easy.
Hayes knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Dodger on the ground.

My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer.

Dodger looking for a guillotine from mount but Hayes is having none of it.
Hayes is not a happy chappy… he wants out of there.
Dodger tries to control but Hayes wriggling away.
Dodger throwing sloppy strikes, which aren't doing any damage.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Dodger is working on an americana here. Ooh, that looks pretty nasty! Nope, Hayes has managed to escape the submission attempt.
Hayes blocking the ground and pound.
Dodger won't let Hayes get back to his feet... He wants to keep the fight where it is for now.
Hayes on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Hayes tries to get out of the position.
Hayes trying desperately to get back to his feet here but he's not having any joy at all. He's going to tire himself out if he's not careful.

Dodger is thinking about an arm triangle here, looking to tighten it up before moving to side control. Hayes can see it coming though and defends well with a couple of strikes to the head and some good arm positioning.
Hayes wants to get back to his feet.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.
Dodger wants to control the pace but Hayes is squirming around nicely.

Dodger gets to his feet and calls his opponent to stand. Here come the fireworks!

Hayes throws a right and a left that both miss.

Hayes moves into range and throws a combination. A nice jab followed by a hook to the body.

John Hayes has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Roger Dodger.

Dodger doesn't react quick enough there as he takes a shot to the body.
Dodger shoots for a double leg takedown but Hayes sprawls well. He's pushed Dodger's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.

Hayes fails to land with a series of punches.
Hayes connects with a good straight punch right through the guard and follows up with a right hook and a left hook! That last one sent Dodger tumbling to the canvas! Hayes pours on the pressure with more strikes and the referee has no hesitation diving in to stop the fight! Dodger was done - good stoppage!
