PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a super heavyweight MMA rules bout between Luther Burbank (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Lay Pray (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Pray has chosen Don't Fear the Reaper- Blue Oyster Cult as his entrance music. On his way into the ring it seems that Luther Burbank has been attacked by a crazed fan! It looks like it might have been the just bleed guy! Luckily Luther Burbank seems to be OK! I thought that lunatic was in prison!?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the super heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Luther Burbank!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 6 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Lay Pray!
The judges for this bout are Frank Antenori, Timothy Bukovac and Jack Bonds.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Pray shoots in for a takedown from distance. He catches Burbank napping and manages to drive through into side control!

Despite being in the dominant position, Lay Pray just isn't active enough and the referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
Pray shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Burbank defends it nicely.

Pray feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.

I looks like Pray might be adopting somewhat of a lay and pray gameplan here, which I'm sure won't go down too well with the paying fans in attendance... Or the ring announcers come to think of it.

Lay Pray showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.

Pray dives in and grabs Burbank's left leg, looking for a takedown. Burbank pushes down on Pray's head and hops out.

Pray shoots in looking for a takedown. Burbank tries to sprawl out of it but Pray keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the ropes. Burbank manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.

Burbank drops back looking for a leg! Pray is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Pray manages to kick Burbank off! Burbank jumps back into Pray's guard.

A real slowdown in the pace of the fight for a moment, as Pray holds on and takes a little breather.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.

Pray shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. Pray showed some decent athleticism there.

Neither fighter is being very active at the moment, with Pray in particular looking to stall.
Let's hope that Pray has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.

Pray fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Burbank sprawls well initially but Pray persists and gets the takedown into half guard.

I would just about give that final round to Lay Pray.
I've got Pray winning every round here. Surely the decision will go his way and he'll pick up a well deserved decision victory. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
