Dean has chosen Elephant Man - Haters (feat Hunt & Jim Jones) as his entrance music. Curtis Dean is staring across the cage at his opponent, tweaking his nipples.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Curtis Dean!
The judges for this bout are Paul Aken, Aafke Stam and Saam Ante.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Dean throws a body kick that misses.
Borre shoots for a double leg takedown but Dean sprawls well. He's pushed Borre's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.
Borre walks forward and throws out a flicking leg kick. Dean checks it nicely though, as he moves to the side.

Dean has taken the fight to the clinch.

Dean breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Borre fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt.
Dean throws a head kick that misses.
John Borre seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Dean misses with a leg kick.
Dean throws a series of punches but Borre moves out of range.

Borre closes the distance and clinches.
Dean pressing his opponent against the cage.
Dean tries to circle away but Borre has him pinned against the cage.

Dean wants to get back to striking at distance but Borre won't allow it.

Dean is desperately trying to get back to half guard.
Borre controlling from mount.
Borre won't let Dean get back to his feet... He wants to keep the fight where it is for now.

Dean swinging wildly from the bottom but he's not landing.
Borre is still in mount, landing shots to his trapped opponent. Dean can't stay in a position like this for much longer.
Borre takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though.

Borre seems to have a rather negative gameplan on the ground. He seems keen to just score the takedown and hold down Dean for as long as he can get away with.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.

Borre jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Dean walks away with a smile on his face. Borre gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head.
Dean leaves Borre with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.

Dean misses with a wild combination.
Borre closes the distance and clinches up with Dean, looking for a takedown. Borre pushes Dean against the cage but Dean circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.

Borre feints and as Dean raises his hands in defense, Borre changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard.

Borre decides he's had enough of playing guard and decides to stand. Come on Dean, up you get!

Borre shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Dean as he jumps to the side.
Dean misses with a leg kick.

Borre closes the distance and scores a nice trip takedown into half guard. Dean did well to prevent Borre getting side control.

Borre takes a deep breath and rests his weight momentarily on top of his opponent, to control the position.

Borre moves into side control, avoiding a weak kimura attempt from Dean.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Borre throws a sloppy head kick
and Dean counters with a right hand to the body.
Dean keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl.
Dean throws a right and a left that both miss.
Dean lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Borre circles away quickly and effectively.
John Borre is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.

Dean gets caught on his heels momentarily as he allows Borre to score an easy takedown into full guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Dean is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Borre defends well.

Dean tries to bum rush Borre with a series of wild strikes but Borre uses good footwork to avoid the assault.

Borre tries to break free but Dean pushes him back against the cage.
Borre pushes off an throws an elbow but Dean leans to the side and avoids it. We're back to clinching against the cage.
Borre dodges an elbow strike from Dean.
Dean prevents a takedown attempt there.
John Borre is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach.
Dean tries to break free but Borre pushes him back against the cage.

And that's the end of the fight!
John Borre showed his dominance in that final round.
Well I reckon that's a shut out for Borre, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
