Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 11 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Billy wescott!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Bill Woods!
The judges for this bout are William Peck, Steve Smith and Dillan Fox.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Horrible takedown by wescott or perhaps it was just good defense by Woods which made him look bad.
Woods fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.

Woods shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in wescott's guard.

wescott had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Woods defends it easily.
Woods wanted to stand there but wescott had control of the position.

wescott working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Woods doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Woods manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.
Woods won't allow wescott to sweep him here.

wescott looking for a guillotine here but Woods defends easily.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!

wescott is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle.

Woods avoids a guillotine attempt easily.

wescott looking for submissions from the bottom here. Moving his hips around, possibly looking for an armbar.
Woods should think about turning a few of those tyres round his middle into muscle if he wants people to take him seriously as an athlete.
Woods stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. wescott swivels though and keeps the full guard.

wescott working away from the bottom but not quite defensive enough there because Woods has passed into half guard!
Woods thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed wescott's head.
Woods throwing punches and elbows but they're not doing any damage.

wescott looking for submissions from an awkward position here.
Woods is just content to waste time from the top position. wescott takes advantage of the situation and regains full guard.

wescott is breathing heavily.

wescott working for a triangle but Woods defends it easily.
Woods must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.

wescott keeping moving, preventing Woods from controlling successfully.
Woods wants to stand and escape but instead wescott has hit a sweep and he's now on top in guard.
wescott stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Woods swivels though and keeps the full guard.
Woods really doesn't want to stay on the ground with wescott. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

wescott drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and wescott jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.
wescott will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.

wescott drops back looking for a heel hook - he quickly realises he's not going to get it but Woods manages to dive on top of him before he can escape and now wescott has Woods in his guard.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.
Woods pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. wescott is keeping the position for now.
Woods wants to control from the top but wescott keeps moving.

wescott is working actively from the bottom, looking for submissions. He's escaped his hips to the side and he's going for an armbar! Woods has his hands clasped together but wescott extends an breaks Woods's desperate grasp, forcing a tap out due to armbar! Nice BJJ displayed there by wescott.
