The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Vera with a hook.

Crack drives through and clinches with Vera against the cage.
Vera looks like he'd prefer to be striking at range right now.
Vera wants to strike at distance but he can't break free of the clinch.

Crack can't find room to land a body shot as Vera controls the action.

Crack gets control of Vera's arms and successfully pulls guard. Crack will no doubt be looking for submissions off his back.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.
The sound of bone on bone echoes around the arena as Crack checks a leg kick.
A combination from Crack does no damage.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.
Vera tries to bum rush Crack with a series of wild strikes but Crack uses good footwork to avoid the assault.
Vera throws the left hand but Crack avoids the punch easily.
Vera throws a right and a left that both miss.
MJ Vera is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Crack fails with an attempt to clinch.
Crack misses with a body shot.
Crack throws a jab when Vera was well out of range.
A looping hook to the body misses from Crack. Vera does a little dance to reset his feet.

Crack drops Vera with a nice combination! Crack dives into Vera's guard, looking to finish!

Vera is rocked!

It looks like MJ Vera has been cut.
Crack stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Vera swivels though and keeps the full guard.
Vera is still in real trouble! Can Crack finish him?

The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up.
Crack misses with a wild body shot.
Vera circles away from the clinch attempt.
Crack keeps his opponent at a distance with a nice jab.
Vera gets his head snapped back by a nice shot there.

That has opened up MJ Vera's cut even more.
I'm just looking down at my notes here and I see that.... oh! Crack has cracked Vera with a big right, followed by a left! He's out on his feet! Crack lands another huge swinging hook and Vera tumbles to the canvas! The ref dives in to save Vera, before Crack can land any more shots!
