The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Rider throws a nice outside leg kick.

Rider pushes Berne away and creates a bit of space to escape. He's almost out here... but no, Berne gets a good hold of his legs and remains firmly in side control.
Rider is looking for a sweep.

Berne is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Rider knows the correct defense though, so he's OK.

Berne tries for a kimura. Not really close to a finish though.

The fighters are going at a pretty good pace and they're both starting to sweat now.
Berne jumps to the side looking to secure the arm triangle…. Ooooh, that looks tight… Rider is gargling but he's managed to escape! Nice work there by Rider and Berne has given up the dominant position trying to land that submission.

Berne is working for the choke. I would put my money on him to finish from this position. He's rolled onto his back and has dragged Rider with him. Rider is trying to defend but Berne has an arm under the chin now! Rider grimaces and is forced to tap out!
