PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Fuck Tard (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Colby Sparrow (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

The judges for this bout are Sosuke Kotani, Taro Takaoka and Hirohito Nitta.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Tard tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Sparrow swivels and escapes.
Tard rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Sparrow moves out of range and avoids them all easily.
Tard lands a nice shot to the body.
Tard shoots in but Sparrow avoids the takedown attempt easily.
Tard tries to clinch up but Sparrow circles away and keeps his distance.
A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Tard.

Sparrow leaves Tard with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Tard will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.

Tard gets caught on his heels momentarily as he allows Sparrow to score an easy takedown into full guard.

Sparrow thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position.
Tard can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as Sparrow controls the pace.

Tard is breathing heavily.

Sparrow seems to be working for a kimura but Tard defends the submission attempt.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Sparrow moves into range and lands a nice leg kick.

Sparrow shoots in for a takedown from distance. He catches Tard napping and manages to drive through into side control!
Tard wants to get back to his feet.

Sparrow decides to stand up, so the ref orders Tard to his feet.

Sparrow closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Tard to the mat! Tard manages to get full guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Tard preventing the ground and pound from doing any damage.
Sparrow controlling from the guard. I say controlling but really, he's stalling.
Tard looking for a sweep. Not yet Tard, not yet.
Sparrow advances to half guard.
Sparrow takes a deep breath and rests his weight momentarily on top of his opponent, to control the position.

Sparrow decides he's had enough of the ground and stands up.

Excellent takedown into side control there by Sparrow.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!

Tard throws a head kick that misses.
Tard throws a sloppy head kick and Sparrow moves out of range easily.
Tard throws a hook but Sparrow avoids it easily.
Tard tries for a takedown but Sparrow circles away easily

and Sparrow holds on and brings the fighters into a clinch.

Sparrow is working on a single leg takedown against the cage. Tard can't fight it off and eventually Sparrow manages to take the fight to the floor. Tard looks annoyed but at least he's managed to land in guard.

Sparrow passes Tard's right leg, so he's now in half guard.
Sparrow is taking a breather. Tard says something to him but it's hard to make out. Perhaps he's telling him to get on with it and actually do something.

Sparrow decides to stand up and try his luck on the feet.
Tard takes an uppercut right on the button but keeps his composure.

Sparrow shoots in for a takedown and gets it.

Tard throws a sloppy head kick

and Sparrow counters with a takedown into side control.

Sparrow is in a dominant position here, looking for a kimura. Tard looks calm but he's in trouble here. Sparrow gets his leg over his opponent's head and yanks on the arm. Tard is tapping like a morse code operator on the titanic! SOS! SOS! Sparrow lets go of the hold and Tard can pop his arm back in it's socket.
