The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Hardin shoots for a takedown but Laws saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.
Hardin throws a nice looking combination but Laws bobs and weaves to avoid any damage.
Hardin shoots in but no luck this time.
Hardin looks to score with a combo but nothing lands.
Laws fails with an attempt to clinch.
Hardin misses with a double jab.
Laws tries to close the distance and clinch but Hardin swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.
Laws shoots in but doesn't get the takedown
and Hardin counters with a thumping low kick.
Laws slips a jab and a cross from Hardin.
Hardin misses with a wild combination.
Hardin looks to score with a jab to the body but Laws is just out of range.

Laws looks for a takedown. He's got it. We're now in half guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Laws looks gassed!
Hardin flails away from the bottom but he's not doing any damage.
Hardin is trying to control but Laws manages to pass to mount!
Hardin is in all sorts of trouble here.

Laws is looking for a triangle but Hardin pushes his legs off easily.

Oh but Laws is tightening it up a little... Hardin has to be careful here... He's got his foot tucked under now, this looks tight!
