Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Austin Powers (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Omar Makhdoom (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). The crowd seem to be enjoying Makhdoom's choice of entrance music: The Rocky Theme. Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Powers avoids the head kick by Makhdoom.
Powers shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Makhdoom sprawls well. Makhdoom wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Powers gets slowly back to his feet.
Makhdoom keeps the fight on the outside.

Powers bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control.
We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake.

Powers tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Powers has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!
Makhdoom gets back to half guard.

Neither fighter is being very active at the moment, with Powers in particular looking to stall.
Makhdoom regains full guard, whilst avoiding punches from Powers.
Powers is frustrating his opponent with some stalling tactics from top position.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.

Makhdoom got a little sloppy there for a moment and Powers has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Makhdoom has managed to get both his arms back between Powers's legs - danger averted.

Powers escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Makhdoom gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.

Powers has his foot on Makhdoom's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Makhdoom works his way back into a safe position though.

Powers shoots in for a double leg but Makhdoom sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.

Powers tries to close the distance and clinch but Makhdoom swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.
