Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Abdul Jaffar (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Bryan Banks (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the ring.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Abdul Jaffar!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Bryan Banks!
The judges for this bout are Wesley Smith, Chris Downing and Tiny Johnson.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Banks closes the distance and clinches up with Jaffar, looking for a takedown. Banks pushes Jaffar against the ropes but Jaffar circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.
Jaffar throws a series of strikes that have Banks backpedaling.

Jaffar closes the distance and pushes Banks back into the ropes.
Banks gets underhooks to prevent Jaffar's takedown attempt.

Jaffar pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.
Jaffar closes this distance looking for a takedown but Banks circles away.
Jaffar fails with a takedown attempt from distance.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Abdul Jaffar. That's going to take a lot out of him.

Jaffar closes the distance and scores a nice trip takedown into half guard. Banks did well to prevent Jaffar getting side control.
Jaffar wants to get back to his feet.

Banks escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Jaffar gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.
Banks has control of Jaffar's left arm, preventing Jaffar from doing any damage.

The fighters are tangled up in the ropes here. We might need a restart if the fighters can't break free themselves.

A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.

Jaffar could do with loosing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely.
Jaffar stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Banks swivels though and keeps the full guard.
Banks is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Jaffar is controlling him.

Banks thows some rabbit punches from the bottom but they don't do any damage.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up.
Banks has his takedown stuffed

and Jaffar counters with a shoot takedown. Banks fights it but they end up in guard.

Banks not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.

Banks is looking for a triangle but Jaffar pushes his legs off easily.
The fighters are trapped in the ropes so we're going to have a reposition here. The ref calls for a break and repositions the fighters in the center of the ring.

and Jaffar counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground.
Banks keeping moving, preventing Jaffar from controlling successfully.
Jaffar is working Banks over from the guard. He should look to pass the guard and do a little more damage with these strikes.
Jaffar knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Banks on the ground.
Jaffar stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Banks swivels though and keeps the full guard.
Jaffar might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.
Banks trying to keep a closed guard but Jaffar is proving a slippery customer.
Banks bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Jaffar's guard.
Banks stands up over Jaffar, holding his feet. He dives back in and lands a decent shot to the head.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.

Banks drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Banks jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Abdul Jaffar dominated that round.

Banks shoots and misses

and Jaffar holds on and brings the fighters into a clinch.
Jaffar throws a nice elbow but it doesn't land.
Jaffar is trying to break free.
Jaffar fails to pull guard.

Jaffar breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Banks has his takedown stuffed

and Jaffar counters with a driving takedown into guard. Nice work there by Jaffar.

Jaffar would like to get this fight back to the feet but can't get free from the closed guard.

Banks is breathing heavily.

Jaffar got a little sloppy there for a moment and Banks has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Jaffar has managed to get both his arms back between Banks's legs - danger averted.

Jaffar on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Jaffar tries to get out of the position.

Banks drops back looking for a submission - "I'm sorry sir, but I'm gunna break your leg" says Banks as he cranks on the unfortunate limb! Jaffar screams and taps out before any major damage is done! Don't mess with Banks! Nice submission victory there!
