PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Micky Train (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and andreas Karlsson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Train's entrance music is Elephant Man - Haters (feat Hunt & Jim Jones) . A fine choice. Both fighters really staring eachother down here, as andreas Karlsson enters the cage!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Micky Train!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, andreas Karlsson!
The judges for this bout are Paulsen Ambrosius, Aafke Stam and Daniel Blasius.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Train changes levels and scores with a jab to the body.
Karlsson is trying hard to land a takedown here. Train sprawls well and keeps this one on the feet.

Karlsson feints and as Train raises his hands in defense, Karlsson changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard.

Train throwing his legs up looking for a triangle.

Karlsson drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Karlsson jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.

Train working for a triangle but Karlsson defends it easily.
Train really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.

Train working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Karlsson doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Karlsson manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.

Train escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Karlsson gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.

Train keeping moving, preventing Karlsson from controlling successfully.

Karlsson got a little sloppy there for a moment and Train has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Karlsson has managed to get both his arms back between Train's legs - danger averted.
Train is breathing heavily.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up.
Karlsson is looking to clinch but Train is avoiding it.
Train is looking to clinch.
Train misses with a wild combination.
Train ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Karlsson moves away.
Train tries to clinch there but Karlsson circles away.
Karlsson shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Train pinned against the cage. Train gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.
Karlsson looks for a takedown but Train sprawls well.
Micky Train has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of andreas Karlsson.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.
Train attempts a low kick but it misses it's target.
Karlsson blocks a leg kick.
Train leaves Karlsson with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.
Karlsson fails miserably with a takedown attempt.
Train throws a quick head kick that skims the top of Karlsson's head.
Train throws the left hand but Karlsson avoids the punch easily.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Train looks to score with a jab to the body but Karlsson is just out of range.
A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Karlsson.
Karlsson shoots for a takedown but Train saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.
Train works over Karlsson's head and body with a nice combination.
Train throws a right and a left that both miss.
Train throws a head kick that half lands.
Karlsson avoids the head kick by Train.
Train fails in his attempt to clinch.
Train swinging wildly here.
An inside leg kick from Train misses.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Karlsson shoots for a takedown but Train saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.
Train throws a nice inside leg kick.
Train throws a right hand that Karlsson ducks under and follows up with a left that Karlsson also avoids with ease.
Train throws a sloppy head kick and Karlsson moves out of range easily.
Karlsson fails with the takedown.

Train moves into the clinch successfully.

Train breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
Train tries to clinch but Karlsson is having none of it.
Train swings for the body but Karlsson moves out of range.
Karlsson slips a jab and a cross from Train.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Micky Train dominated that round.
The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!


Train defends well against a solid takedown attempt from Karlsson.
Train moves into range and throws a lovely three punch combination.
Train misses with a body kick.
Train misses with a low kick.
Micky Train is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
A telegraphed takedown attempt from Karlsson is defended easily by Train.
Karlsson throws a shot from downtown. Train moves away and avoids it.
Train lands with a good body shot.
Train turns his hip over beautifully as he lands a nice leg kick.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
Like a baseball bat into the meat of his leg there - nice leg kick by Train.

Train will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
Train tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion.
Karlsson tries to score a power double leg takedown but Train sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Karlsson somewhat.
Micky Train has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of andreas Karlsson.
Train's corner calls for a 1,2 combination and Train duly obliges.

Train closes the distance and pushes Karlsson back into the cage.
Train manages to get underhooks and slows down the pace for a moment.
Karlsson drops down for a takedown but doesn't get it.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Train fails to pull the fight into his guard.

Train pulls guard effortlessly.

Train has an omoplata and is looking to use it perhaps as a submission or perhaps to transition. Karlsson is in a bit of discomfort here, but he's managed to free himself and has dived into side control! That didn't work out too well for Train.
Train is looking to reverse the position.
Karlsson passes to full mount! That's big trouble for Train!
Train tries to reverse the position but Karlsson maintains control.

Karlsson is working to isolate an arm here. It's a telegraphed submission attempt but he's gone for it anyway - and he's got it! Karlsson extends the arm and Train is forced to tap!
