The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Pencil ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Roederer moves away.
Roederer ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Pencil moves away.
Pencil throws an overhand right that lands on Roederer's shoulder, as Roederer tries to avoid the shot.
Roederer bobs and weaves well there to avoid the strikes.
Roederer avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
Roederer lands a nice looking body shot.
Pencil dodges the punch combination from Roederer.
Pencil scores with a decent looking hook.
Louis Roederer seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Roederer takes a swing at Pencil's ribcage but misses.

Roederer shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Pencil sprawls well. Pencil wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Roederer gets slowly back to his feet.

Pencil throws a lazy right hand but Roederer sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily.
Roederer uses decent footwork to sidestep a right hand from Pencil.
A telegraphed takedown attempt from Pencil is defended easily by Roederer.

Pencil keeping at a good range here, avoiding a leg kick.
Roederer jabbing away but nothing is landing.
Pencil fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Roederer avoids it really well and circles away.

and Pencil counters with a single leg into guard. Roederer didn't expect that.

Pencil postures up as if he's going to throw some strikes but drops back for an ankle! Roederer is in big trouble! He looks ready to tap! But no, he's escaped and dives on top of Pencil, into his guard.
Roederer working some ground and pound from guard but it's not doing any damage.
Pencil is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

Roederer got a little sloppy there for a moment and Pencil has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Roederer has managed to get both his arms back between Pencil's legs - danger averted.

Roederer is looking to work some ground and pound but Pencil has wrist control.

Roederer throwing shots from guard but he's hitting more mat than opponent.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Roederer not doing a lot at the moment. He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up.
Pencil not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
Roederer throws a front kick aimed at Pencil's knee but Pencil avoids it well.
Pencil walks into a jab.
Pencil takes a body punch but keeps moving.
Pencil is breathing heavily.
Roederer tests Pencil's chin there with a solid looking shot.

Roederer steps into range and cracks Pencil with a monster punch that buckles his knees! Pencil flops backwards and Roederer dives into his guard looking to finish!

Pencil is rocked!
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Roederer is looking to work some ground and pound but Pencil has wrist control.
Oh Pencil is still in real trouble! Will he be able to recover?!!

Roederer thows a big elbow that misses.
Pencil seems to have got his legs back now.
Roederer postures up in Pencil's guard and throws a big left but Pencil blocks it.

Roederer decides he's had enough of playing guard and decides to stand. Come on Pencil, up you get!
Roederer doesn't manage to clinch there - Pencil circles away.
Pencil throws a nice looking combination but Roederer bobs and weaves to avoid any damage.
Roederer throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
Roederer rushes Pencil with punches - Pencil moves straight backwards instead of circling and gets clipped by the second strike... and the third... and the fourth! Oh, Pencil goes down! Roederer follows up with more strikes and the ref steps in to end the bout!
