PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Rich Dreyfuss (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Steve Snider (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Snider has a pretty significant injury - he really shouldn't be fighting right now but he's a warrior and he's here none the less! Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Dreyfuss throws a leg kick but Snider sees it coming and moves out of range.
Snider looks gassed!

Dreyfuss shoots in for a takedown and gets it.
Dreyfuss working some ground and pound from close in. He's looking to maintain this position and strike for a while by the looks of things... although he'll probably advance to full mount in a minute now I've said that.
Dreyfuss knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Snider on the ground.
Dreyfuss lands a big shot. The thud that echoes around the arena is like music to the fans' ears.
Dreyfuss wants to get back to his feet.
Dreyfuss drops an elbow to the side of Snider's head.
Dreyfuss seems to be taking a bit of a break to think of his next move. He lands a short punch in the meantime.
The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Dreyfuss connects with a nice short shot to Snider's temple.

Dreyfuss is keeping good posture, landing some ground and pound.
Snider is still in real trouble! Can Dreyfuss finish him?
Dreyfuss wants to free his trapped foot but Snider is holding on for dear life with his legs.
Snider seems to have recovered his senses.
Dreyfuss looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Snider with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Dreyfuss winds up and cracks Snider with a swinging punch to the side of the head.
Snider is trying to defend against the ground and pound but Dreyfuss scores with a couple of nice shots.
Dreyfuss is nestled in close to Snider, controlling him well. He's worked in a nice elbow to the side of the head as well, for good measure.

Dreyfuss looks up at the clock and then as Snider takes his cue and looks up at the clock too, Dreyfuss smacks him right in the chops with a big elbow! How rude!
Snider is sneaking out the side here. He's bucked Dreyfuss off and has taken his back!
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Snider keeps control of the position as Dreyfuss tries to break free.

Snider is working for the rear naked choke. He has one arm under the chin but Dreyfuss has hold of the other arm. A bit of a stalemate here.

Dreyfuss turns into Snider and is now in his guard.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

Snider is working an open guard so Dreyfuss takes the opportunity to get back to his feet.
Dreyfuss changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Snider tries to avoid it but Dreyfuss manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Snider to the ground. Snider escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
Dreyfuss bobbing and weaving, closes the distance and lands a hook to the side of Snider's head.

Snider is working for an escape here. He's hooked one of Dreyfuss's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take Dreyfuss's back!
Snider is trying to stick to Dreyfuss's back but Dreyfuss is turning into Snider. He's managed to reverse the position - now he's in Snider's guard. Polite applause from the crowd in appreciation of some nice Jiu Jitsu by Dreyfuss.

The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!

Dreyfuss keeps in close for a moment and lands a decent shot to the side of Snider's head.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!

Dreyfuss shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in full mount! That's better than Dreyfuss was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure!
Rich Dreyfuss overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.
