The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Akyat on the wrong end of an overhand right that came out of nowhere.
Nice cross by Ikeda.
Ikeda scores with the left hand. Akyat knows he should have avoided that one.
Ikeda scores with a jab to the jaw.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Ikeda lunges in with an uppercut that skims his opponent's chin.
Akyat takes a punch to the jaw and another one to the bread basket.
Akyat takes a shot to the body in his stride.
Ikeda throws a wild combination but nothing lands.
A looping hook to the body misses from Ikeda. Akyat does a little dance to reset his feet.
Ikeda throws a series of punches but Akyat moves out of range.
Akyat showing good head movement there, avoiding the strikes from Ikeda.
A jab from Ikeda misses.

Akyat closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Akyat lands in his opponent's guard.
Akyat is pushing down on Ikeda's leg trying to pass to half guard. Ikeda is fighting to maintain full guard but Akyat has managed to sneak the leg through.
Akyat has hold of the far side arm. He's working for the Kimura, can Ikeda defend it? Akyat steps over the head and cranks it - Ikeda is tapping out! That was textbook stuff right there - nice submission victory for Akyat!
