Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Oliver Scott (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Roger Ribeiro (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Oliver Scott!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Roger Ribeiro!
The judges for this bout are , Jack Bonds and Frank Antenori.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Scott forces Ribeiro back against the cage and clinches.
Scott prevents the takedown attempt.
Scott working Ribeiro over with knees to the body.
Ribeiro misses the knee to the body. Nice hip positioning from Scott.

Scott breaks from the clinch.
Ribeiro throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Scott's waist but Scott gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Ribeiro off to one side.

Scott shoots in for a takedown from distance. He catches Ribeiro napping and manages to drive through into side control!
Scott is looking to take a break and control but Ribeiro is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
Ribeiro is looking to reverse the position.
Sloppy strikes there by Scott.

Scott has had enough of the ground for now and decides to stand.
Roger Ribeiro seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Ribeiro scores a trip takedown into side control. Nice.

Scott tries to bench press Ribeiro off him but Ribeiro keeps the position.
Scott is trying to control Ribeiro's posture but Ribeiro avoids it.

Ribeiro wants to control but Scott is keeping him busy.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
You can see the frustration on Scott's face, being in this tough position on the bottom.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.

Scott looking to shoot here. He's gone for it and he's landed a takedown into mount! Oh, that's bad for Ribeiro!
Ribeiro is trying desperately to improve position.

Ribeiro tries to hold on but Scott postures up.
Scott knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Ribeiro on the ground.

Scott is standing up out of mount! Strange tactic there - he must really want this one on the feet!
Ribeiro looks to score with a jab to the body but Scott is just out of range.

Scott feints and as Ribeiro raises his hands in defense, Scott changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard.
The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.
Scott looking to sit in guard and control but Ribeiro gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.
Scott looking to hit a scissor sweep but Ribeiro is one step ahead there.

Scott is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Ribeiro is aware though and is defending well.

and Scott counters with a nice double leg into side control. Ribeiro won't be happy with that.
Ribeiro is looking to regain half guard here but Scott keeps moving and retains side control.

Scott is maintaining the dominant position - no doubt Ribeiro will start to get frustrated soon if he's not already.

Ribeiro is breathing heavily.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.

Ribeiro is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Scott defends well.

Scott stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Ribeiro swivels though and keeps the full guard.

A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.

Scott closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Scott lands in his opponent's guard.
Oliver Scott overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.

Ribeiro controls Scott momentarily but Scott frees himself.
Ribeiro manages to land a sweep and now he's in mount on top!
Scott is trying to escape the mount.

That's time! Back to the action! Let's get this one finished - here comes the final round!


Ribeiro fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Scott manages to avoid it.

Scott feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.

Scott seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.
Ribeiro controls Scott momentarily but Scott frees himself.
Ribeiro pulls Scott in to control the position.
Ribeiro trying to keep a closed guard but Scott is proving a slippery customer.
Scott in full guard, throwing the ground and pound. No damage this time.
Ribeiro is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.

Scott kicks Ribeiro off and gets back to his feet.

Scott seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Ribeiro does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.
Roger Ribeiro has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!
Ribeiro wants to control but Scott is keeping busy.
Ribeiro manages to get to full guard.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Ribeiro throws some sloppy strikes off his back.

Oliver Scott showed his dominance in that final round.
Well I reckon that's a shut out for Scott, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
