A fine choice. Damon King could well score a knockout today. He has the power to get to Curtis Jackson's chin.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 6 - 3 - 0, fighting out of New York, Damon King!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Curtis Jackson!
The judges for this bout are Bruno Lombardi, Eddie Farnsworth and Jonathan Paton.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
King shoots for a takedown but Jackson saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.
Jackson tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.
King throws a head kick but Jackson moves out of range.

Jackson lands a big head kick that sends King tumbling to the mat! Jackson takes a step backwards and waves King back to his feet - he wants the finish!


King is rocked!


It looks like Damon King has been cut.
Jackson misses with a hook.
King fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt.

King looks for a takedown. He's got it. We're now in half guard.

Jackson pushes King off looking to stand but King dives back in and keeps control.

King is in full mount, looking to secure a guillotine but Jackson is surviving well by controlling King's body position as best he can.
Jackson really doesn't want to stay on the ground with King. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.

King dives in and grabs Jackson's left leg, looking for a takedown. Jackson pushes down on King's head and hops out.

Damon King seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.

King drops down and drives through with a powerful takedown into guard.

King drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and King jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.
King tries to free his leg and advance position but Jackson is retaining full guard.
Jackson wants to stand and escape but King is having none of it.

Jackson is looking to stand back up... there's a bit of a scramble and King dives into side control.

Jackson throws a decent looking leg kick but it doesn't land clean.

My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer.

King is looking for a takedown here. He's shot in and has managed to get it, finishing up in Jackson's half guard.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
King is pressing down on Jackson's thigh, looking to free his foot. Jackson is holding on for now.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
King is working hard here to advance position.
