Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Dorian Soldo (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and John Lestat (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). The crowd giving both fighters a great reception on their way into the arena. That's good to see.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Dorian Soldo!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 4 - 6 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, John Lestat!
The judges for this bout are Paul Aken, Saam Ante and Nard Betker.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Lestat moves into range and lands a nice leg kick.
Soldo blocks a head kick by Lestat.
Soldo throws a head kick that misses.
Lestat throws a sloppy head kick and Soldo moves out of range easily.
Lestat misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.

Lestat gets a clinch.

Lestat pulls guard successfully.
Soldo might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.
Soldo trying to control the position from guard on top but Lestat is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.

Lestat controls Soldo momentarily but Soldo frees himself.

The fighters are trapped in the ropes so we're going to have a reposition here. The ref calls for a break and repositions the fighters in the center of the ring.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.
Soldo throws a series of punches but Lestat avoids them all with ease.
Soldo defends well against a solid takedown attempt from Lestat.
Soldo tries to clinch up
and Lestat counters with a left to the body.

Soldo misses with an attempted mid kick.
Lestat lands with a kick to the temple. Soldo shrugs as if to say "is that all you've got?"
Lestat throws a head kick that misses.
Soldo takes a nasty kick to the mid section... That should keep him thinking. Does he try and block and risk a head kick landing?
Soldo is breathing heavily.
Soldo is trying hard to land a takedown here. Lestat sprawls well and keeps this one on the feet.

Lestat shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Oh and he's advanced to full mount straight away.
Lestat postures up and cracks his opponent a couple of times before moving back into close ground control. Soldo looks a forlorn figure.
Lestat is still in mount, landing shots to his trapped opponent. Soldo can't stay in a position like this for much longer.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Soldo tries to hold on but Lestat postures up.
Lestat has his opponent pinned against the ropes, landing some nasty ground and pound that is really making a bit of a mess out of Soldo's face.

Soldo is rocked!
Soldo is desperately trying to improve his position but Lestat has a good base and remains in mount.
Lestat trying to control but Soldo is having none of it.
Lestat cracks Soldo with a nasty head shot there - the crowd let out an audible gasp there, as the noise reverberated around the arena.
Oh Soldo is still in real trouble! Will he be able to recover?!!

Lestat looking to control and managing it successfully.
Soldo seems to have got his legs back now.
Both fighters really going for it on the ground here!
Lestat tries to control but Soldo wriggling away.

The crowd growing excited in anticipation of a finish here! Right on cue, Lestat cracks his opponent with a massive right hand that draws loud cheers!
Lestat can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Soldo is looking to escape.

Soldo slips a leg in and gets back to half guard.
Lestat trying to control from half guard but Soldo is working away.
Soldo tries to roll over but Lestat keeps him under control.
The fighters are battling for position here. Soldo manages to regain full guard. Nice work.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.
Soldo looking for a sweep. Not yet Soldo, not yet.
Soldo scores with a short punch from the bottom.
Lestat slips nicely into half guard.
Soldo on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Soldo tries to get out of the position.
Lestat prevents Soldo from improving his position.

Lestat passes the guard and advances to mount!
Soldo is trying to escape the mount.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
The referee warns Soldo that he has to improve his position here as he takes two more clean shots to the head.

John Lestat dominated that round.
OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.



Lestat shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Soldo's guard.
Soldo not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.
The fighters are tangled up in the ropes here. We might need a restart if the fighters can't break free themselves.
Lestat wants to control from the top but Soldo keeps moving.
Soldo striking off his back but it's not causing Lestat any problems.
Lestat lands a couple of digs.

A head kick misses from Lestat.
Lestat shoots for a double leg takedown but Soldo sprawls well. He's pushed Lestat's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.
Lestat slaps away a takedown attempt from Soldo, before circling back to the center of the mat.
Lestat lands a beauty of a right hand that gets the crowd cheering.
Soldo takes one to the side of the head.
Nice takedown defense from Soldo. No joy for Lestat on that attempt.
Lestat lunges at Soldo with a hook that half lands and is half blocked by Soldo's hand.
Soldo throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.
Dorian Soldo seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

and Lestat counters with a leg kick that reverborates around the arena.
Lestat works over Soldo's head and body with a nice combination.

Lestat moves into the clinch successfully.
Lestat gets double underhooks to prevent a takedown attempt from Soldo.

Lestat is trying to control the position but Soldo postures up.

Soldo is looking to stand up but Lestat won't let him.

Lestat has managed to pull guard. Let's see whether he can work an aggressive guard. It will also be interesting to see what tactics Soldo uses from the top position.

Soldo shoots in and drives through. Lestat sprawls well.

Soldo leaves Lestat with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.

Lestat is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.
Lestat connects with a good right hand that stumbles Soldo. Soldo circles away out of range and recomposes himself.

and Lestat counters with a nice jab to the body that keeps Soldo thinking.
Lestat lands a jab. Then a cross. Then finally a nice hook to the body. Good work there by Lestat.

John Lestat showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.

and Lestat counters with a nice jab to the body that keeps Soldo thinking.

Lestat ties up his opponent against the ropes and manages to drag the fight down to the ground. Lestat no doubt will be looking to work submissions from his guard.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.

Lestat is thinking about an arm triangle here, looking to tighten it up before moving to side control. Soldo can see it coming though and defends well with a couple of strikes to the head and some good arm positioning.

Lestat is looking to secure an arm. He's managed it! He's pivoting for an armbar - that looks tight! But Soldo has managed to get out of it and now he's in a dominant position. Nice work from Soldo!

John Lestat comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
Well Lestat has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
