The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Dela Cruz fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Sturd manages to avoid it.
Sturd looks to score with a jab to the body but Dela Cruz is just out of range.

Dela Cruz swings wildly with a right hand that was never going to find it's target.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Sturd drops Dela Cruz with a hook right on the temple. He thinks about going to the ground but Dela Cruz looks back up at him and smiles so Sturd waves him back to his feet - he obviously thinks he can knock him out after that shot landed.
Sturd tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Dela Cruz was well out of range. Poor timing from Sturd.

and Sturd counters nicely by changing levels and landing a hook to the body.
King Dela Cruz seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Sturd throws a couple of head shots and lands with the final one - a decent hook, which struck Dela Cruz on the side of the head.


King Dela Cruz's cut is getting worse.
Dela Cruz lands a straight punch to the body, keeping Sturd at a distance.

Sturd lands a big uppercut and Dela Cruz crumbles to the floor! The ref thinks about stopping the fight but Dela Cruz looks OK. Sturd waves Dela Cruz back to his feet!
Sturd throws an overhand right that drops Dela Cruz like a sack of potatoes! Sturd dives in to finish the fight with more strikes and this one is all over!
