The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Stone throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Nguyen's waist but Nguyen gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Stone off to one side.
Stone keeps the fight on the outside.
Nguyen fails with an attempt to clinch.
Nice defenses there by Nguyen.

Stone scores with a takedown into Nguyen's guard.
Stone stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Nguyen swivels though and keeps the full guard.
Stone trying to control but Nguyen is working from the bottom.
Stone works a leg free and moves into half guard.
Nguyen is working for an escape here. He's hooked one of Stone's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take Stone's back!
Stone is very frustrated here, being controlled quite effectively by Nguyen.

Stone rolls and manages to get back to half guard. Nicely done.
Stone tries to roll over but Nguyen keeps him under control.
Nguyen is thwarting Stone's attempts to control the position.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.
Stone is looking for a sweep. Nguyen is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.
Nguyen tries to stand but can't do so whilst Stone controls his leg.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.
Nguyen fails to land with a series of punches.
Stone moves out of range of the body kick.
Stone avoids the head kick by Nguyen.
Stone shoots in for a takedown but Nguyen shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet.
A nice inside leg kick there by Stone. That's going to slow Nguyen down.
Stone fails with a takedown attempt from distance.
Lam Nguyen has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Mark Stone.

Stone shapes like he's going to throw a leg kick but settles back down.

Nguyen lands a jab, followed by a cross and another cross, as Stone backs up against the cage.
Nguyen connects with a leg kick. He turned his hip over nicely there.
Nguyen scores with a sloppy punch to the body. Not much technique there but it did the business.

Stone shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Nguyen defends it nicely.

Stone circles away from the clinch attempt.
Stone drops his hands momentarily and Nguyen needs no second invitation. He sets himself and throws a perfect high kick, that clips Stone just on the top of the head. Stone drops like a sack of potatoes to the canvas, out cold! Oooooooh yeah! Stick a fork in Stone - he's done!
