The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Tanner closes the distance and takes a jab right on the nose as he does so.
Andre Oliveira seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Oliveira misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.

Oliveira tries a low kick but Tanner avoids it.

Oliveira goes for an armbar but Tanner turns quickly into his guard - lovely anticipation from Tanner.

Tanner uses his free foot to push down on Oliveira's thigh. Eventually he works his other foot free and he's advanced to mount - this is trouble for Oliveira.

Tanner goes for an armbar but he's fallen flat on his backside there and now Oliveira is on top in guard.

Oliveira stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Tanner swivels though and keeps the full guard.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.
Tanner manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Oliveira manages to get himself to full guard.

and Tanner counters with a takedown into full mount! That could mean trouble for Oliveira!
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

Tanner working from mount. He moves in close and looks like he might be going for an arm triangle... He's hopped off to the side and he's transitioned into an Anaconda choke. Oliveira turning a nasty shade of purple. He's refusing to tap but he's gone! He's out! The ref rips Tanner off and cradles Oliveira's limp body as Tanner celebrates with his corner.
