The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
A head kick misses from van den Buren.
van den Buren throws a hook to the side of Atayev's head but Atayev sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully.
van den Buren tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.
Bozigit Atayev seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Atayev throws a right and a left that van den Buren avoids nicely.
van den Buren is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.

van den Buren lands a left and a right that send Atayev crashing to the mat, dazed. van den Buren thinks about following him to the mat but decides to wave him back up to his feet!

It looks like Bozigit Atayev has been cut.
Atayev is breathing heavily.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
van den Buren scores with a kick to the midsection.
van den Buren lands a brutal head kick. Atayev looks out on his feet and van den Buren throws more strikes until the ref is forced to stop the fight!
