Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between William Mbugua (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Dirk Diggler (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

The judges for this bout are Chris Downing, Frank Dennis and Cecil Peabody.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Mbugua forces Diggler back against the cage and clinches.
Mbugua breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Diggler wants to clinch
and Mbugua counters by clinching up.
Diggler drops down for a takedown but doesn't get it.

and Mbugua counters with a left and a right that stings Diggler.

Mbugua clinches up with Diggler and pushes him back against the cage.

Diggler is working for a takedown up against the cage. He can't get it on this occasion though.
Diggler is trying to work for a single leg takedown but Mbugua pulls him back up using the underhooks.
William Mbugua has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Dirk Diggler.
Mbugua breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.

and Mbugua moves into the clinch.
Mbugua manages to break the clinch.
Diggler shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Mbugua pinned against the cage. Mbugua gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.
Mbugua misses with the combination.
William Mbugua is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Both fighters circling a little - Mbugua finishes the exchange with a kick to the body.
Diggler looks gassed!
Mbugua takes the fight into the clinch.

Mbugua escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Diggler misses with a kick to the body.
Diggler drives through with a really nice takedown into side control.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Diggler looks up at the clock and then as Mbugua takes his cue and looks up at the clock too, Diggler smacks him right in the chops with a big elbow! How rude!
Diggler has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.
That's two minutes gone in the round.
Diggler lands a nice forearm strike.
Mbugua is rocked!

Diggler creates a bit of distance and throws down some hard shots.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Mbugua gives up the full mount - oops, sloppy defensive grappling there!
Mbugua is not in a great position here, taking some shots.
Diggler takes a little break here. Mbugua wants to take advantage but he is being controlled well.
Diggler decides to stand up, so the ref orders Mbugua to his feet.

Diggler uses good footwork to avoid the strikes from Mbugua.
Diggler moves into range and clinches up with Mbugua.
Diggler lands an elbow inside that Mbugua shrugs off.
Mbugua is pressed against the cage. Diggler pushes back and unleashes a big elbow that really hurts Mbugua! Two more big strikes from Diggler and Mbugua crumples to the mat and taps out furiously due to the strikes!
