Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Nsir Vlum!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 3 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Pete Sandoval!
The judges for this bout are Aleksei Zolotukhin, Dmitry Maklakov and Vladimir Khabensky.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Sandoval checks a low kick from Vlum.
Sandoval misses with a two punch combination.
Sandoval will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
Sandoval misses with a double jab.
Sandoval throws a head kick that misses.

A head kick lands from Vlum that sends Sandoval to the canvas. Sandoval tries to scramble back to his feet but Vlum brings him back down into side control.


It looks like Pete Sandoval has been cut.

Vlum wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Sandoval, who protects the arm well.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!

Vlum thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead.
Sandoval is pushing Vlum's head away, looking to escape. Vlum manages to hold on to the position though.

That's one minute gone in the round.

Vlum tries for a kimura but Sandoval is defending well.

Vlum is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Sandoval is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now.

Vlum is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, Sandoval has escaped the position, nice work there.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Vlum tries to move into full mount but can't pass Sandoval's legs.

Vlum has knee on belly and moves into mount.

Vlum jumps to side control looking for an arm triangle but Sandoval manages to avoid the submission attempt.

Vlum will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.

We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Sandoval can do anything to dispel that myth.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.
Sandoval is trying to get back to his feet.

Vlum looking for an arm triangle but it's way too loose to do anything.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Nsir Vlum dominated that round.
The cut man is working on Pete Sandoval's cut.
The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.


Vlum goes for a high kick. It partially lands.
Vlum steps to the side to avoid the strikes from Sandoval.
No joy there for Sandoval, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
Vlum fakes the leg kick and cracks Sandoval in the body.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Whack! Vlum lands a heavy head kick that drops Sandoval. The ref tackles Vlum to stop the fight - a great save by the referee because Sandoval was done.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:32 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Head Kick). Nsir Vlum!
