Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between James Concrete (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jally Joseph (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 4 - 3 - 0, fighting out of London, James Concrete!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 6 - 2 - 0, fighting out of London, Jally Joseph!
The judges for this bout are Andrew Berry, Colin Fotheringham and William Gold.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Joseph throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Concrete.
Joseph throws a combination. Concrete tries to block but a couple of punches get through.
Joseph defends well against a solid takedown attempt from Concrete.
Joseph paws at his opponent with the jab and then lunges in with a straight, right on the button.
A slow jab from Joseph misses its intended target.
Joseph misses with a few strikes there.
Concrete fails with a takedown attempt from distance.
Joseph misses with a jab, cross combination.

Joseph shoots in and bounces Concrete off the cage to secure the takedown into guard.
Concrete throwing strikes off his back to little effect.

Concrete working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Joseph doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Joseph manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.
Concrete is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

Concrete manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Joseph manages to get himself to full guard.
Joseph is looking to stand up but Concrete isn't so interested in that idea.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.

Concrete gets in close and instigates a clinch.

Joseph is fighting off a takedown attempt but Concrete is just too persistent for him and manages to trip Joseph to the mat. Joseph regains guard as soon as the fighters hit the mat.

Joseph wants to stand up but Concrete is controlling him.

Concrete stands and steps away. Joseph gets to his feet too and we're back to the striking game.
Joseph throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land.
Concrete slips a jab and a cross from Joseph.
Joseph throws a series of punches but Concrete moves out of range.
Concrete looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Joseph is fending him off so far but Concrete persists. Nope, Joseph circles away and we're back to standing.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for James Concrete. That's going to take a lot out of him.

Joseph throws a body kick but he wasn't in range.
Joseph throws a right hand that Concrete ducks under and follows up with a left that Concrete also avoids with ease.
Concrete leaves Joseph with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.

Concrete prevents a takedown attempt there.
Joseph is trying to work for a single leg takedown but Concrete pulls him back up using the underhooks.

Concrete drags the fight down to the ground.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Concrete is really struggling to control Joseph but he's trying to hold on to the position.

Concrete is edging up against the cage. He's using the cage to get back to his feet. Nice work there - the fighters are clinched.

Concrete gets control of Joseph's arms and successfully pulls guard. Concrete will no doubt be looking for submissions off his back.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close round but I would say that James Concrete will probably get the nod.
The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action!


Concrete shoots in for a takedown but Joseph shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet.
Jally Joseph seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Concrete.
Joseph tries to bum rush Concrete with a series of wild strikes but Concrete uses good footwork to avoid the assault.
Concrete moves in looking to clinch but Joseph pushes him off.

Joseph clinches up with Concrete and pushes him back against the cage.
Joseph misses with an elbow strike.
Joseph using the Thai plumb to throw knees but Concrete has his back arched nicely, preventing the strike.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Concrete avoiding any damage from the ground and pound.
Joseph throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Concrete works some decent striking defense from the bottom.

Joseph postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect.
A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Joseph accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
Joseph misses with a jab, cross combination.
Joseph connects with a body shot.
Joseph misses with a few strikes there.
Concrete scores with a reasonable looking shot to the body. Joseph doesn't seem bothered though.
No joy there for Joseph, who threw a few shots but didn't land.

Joseph has a body lock and is looking for a takedown. Concrete is bouncing around trying to prevent the takedown and somehow he has indeed managed to stay on his feet.

Concrete is pressed up against the cage. Joseph has hold of a leg and is looking to drag Concrete down to the mat. Concrete avoids the attempt though and has circled away. We're back to striking at a distance.
James Concrete is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
Concrete tries to clinch but Joseph is having none of it.
Concrete dives in and grabs Joseph's left leg, looking for a takedown. Joseph pushes down on Concrete's head and hops out.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.

Concrete ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Joseph moves away.
Concrete doesn't manage to clinch there - Joseph circles away.
Concrete throws a jab when Joseph was well out of range.
Concrete avoids a punch combination nicely.

Joseph throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.

Joseph changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Concrete looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.

Jally Joseph showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action. This is the final round!


Joseph walks forward and throws out a flicking leg kick. Concrete checks it nicely though, as he moves to the side.

Concrete darts in and lands a nice takedown into half guard.

Concrete wants to take a breather but Joseph is having none of it.
Joseph tries to kick Concrete off but Concrete keeps his base steady and stays in half guard.
Joseph pushes Concrete off but Concrete dives into side control.
Joseph pushes Concrete away and creates a bit of space to escape. He's almost out here... but no, Concrete gets a good hold of his legs and remains firmly in side control.
Joseph is using up a lot of energy trying to get back to his feet. Perhaps he should improve his position first.
Joseph really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Concrete. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
Concrete is looking to take a break and control but Joseph is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
Joseph takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.

The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up.

Concrete gets a clinch.

Concrete breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
Joseph throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.
Joseph throws a hook but Concrete avoids it easily.
Concrete uses good head movement to avoid the hook from Joseph.
Joseph misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.

Excellent takedown into side control there by Concrete.
We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Joseph can do anything to dispel that myth.
Joseph is working hard to escape and get back to his feet. After a battle for position, Concrete asserts his dominance and retains side control.

Joseph is in a world of trouble here. He's outmatched on the ground here and he'd better get Concrete off his back sharpish unless he wants to be submitted.

Concrete has the hooks sunk in and you can see the will to fight slowly draining out of Joseph's body.

Joseph might have to switch it up a bit here because his efforts to control Concrete kaven't been going to plan, at least at the current moment in time.
I would not like to be Joseph right now.

A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.

Concrete is remaining active here, looking for the choke. The more discerning members of the crowd will appreciate his efforts.
