Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 5 - 2 - 0, fighting out of London, Chris Liddle!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 7 - 4 - 0, fighting out of London, Benny Phillips!
The judges for this bout are Sam Margolis, Chris Edwards and Daniel Bishop.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Phillips lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Liddle circles away quickly and effectively.
Liddle avoids a punch combination nicely.
Phillips misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Phillips comes forward and lands a shot to the body, then darts back out of range.
Liddle ducks under an overhand right and circles away with a smile on his face.

Phillips tries to keep at a distance but Liddle has taken the fight into the clinch.

Liddle breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
Benny Phillips seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Phillips just misses with a punch to the body.
Liddle dodges the punch combination from Phillips.
Phillips swings away with a leg kick that misses.
Phillips throws a right hand that Liddle ducks under and follows up with a left that Liddle also avoids with ease.
Phillips misses with a few strikes there.
Phillips defends well against a solid takedown attempt from Liddle.
Liddle takes a jab right on the nose. That must have hurt but he shrugs his shoulders and looks to return the favor.

Liddle throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Phillips was covering up waiting for the punch and Liddle finishes the takedown easily into guard.

Liddle is looking to stand up but Phillips won't let him.
Liddle has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.

Liddle tries to stand but Phillips is controlling from the bottom.
Liddle throwing strikes but missing.
Liddle won't allow Phillips to get back to his feet.
Phillips wants to sweep here but Liddle controlling him for the moment.

The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up.
Phillips throws a nice looking combination but Liddle bobs and weaves to avoid any damage.

Phillips throws a two punch combo that lands nicely.
Liddle throws a head kick that misses.
Phillips throws a right and a left that both miss.
Phillips throws a leg kick but Liddle sees it coming and moves out of range.
Liddle moves in looking to clinch but Phillips pushes him off.
Phillips throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
Phillips's corner calls for a 1-2. Phillips obliges with the 1 part as he scores the single shot and moves back out of range.
Phillips throws a body punch but Liddle moves out of range.
Nice sprawl there from Phillips as Liddle shoots in.
Liddle has a takedown stuffed.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Chris Liddle. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Phillips cracks Liddle with a nice right hand that draws applause from the crowd.

Liddle throws a hook but Phillips blocks it.
Phillips lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Liddle circles away quickly and effectively.
Liddle uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Phillips.
Phillips looks to land a right hand but Liddle moved out of range.
Phillips swinging wildly here.
A telegraphed takedown attempt from Liddle is defended easily by Phillips.
Phillips looks to score with a jab to the body but Liddle is just out of range.
Phillips misses with an uppercut.
Phillips throws a couple of head shots and lands with the final one - a decent hook, which struck Liddle on the side of the head.


Liddle is rocked!
I'm just looking down at my notes here and I see that.... oh! Phillips has cracked Liddle with a big right, followed by a left! He's out on his feet! Phillips lands another huge swinging hook and Liddle tumbles to the canvas! The ref dives in to save Liddle, before Phillips can land any more shots!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:04 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Punches). Benny Phillips!
