Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Thiago Paranhos (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Diablo Maradona (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Paranhos comes into the arena with Chop Suey blaring out of the sound system. Thiago Paranhos has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Maradona will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.
Paranhos shoots and misses

so Maradona counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility.
Maradona is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long.

Maradona stands up from Paranhos's guard - Maradona perhaps looking for a knockout.

Maradona shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Oh and he's advanced to full mount straight away.
Maradona takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though.

Paranhos is looking to improve his position but Maradona isn't that keen on the idea.

Maradona shoots in with a lovely double leg takedown. Paranhos manages to land in full guard to minimise the damage.
Paranhos can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as Maradona controls the pace.

Diablo Maradona has got the better of the ground game so far.
Maradona is in close to Paranhos's body, working some short punches and elbows.
Maradona is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control.
Maradona is working the ground and pound from guard. He might want to try advancing position though to get more of an impact.

Paranhos takes an elbow right on the bridge of the nose and winces in pain.

Maradona is trying to get an arm triangle but Paranhos is defending well.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

Maradona is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Paranhos is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now.

Maradona decides to stand back up. Maradona steps back and let's Paranhos get back to his feet.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Maradona has his foot on Paranhos's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Paranhos works his way back into a safe position though.

Paranhos has a momentary lapse of concentration, allowing Maradona to throw up a leg and lock on what appears to be a pretty tight triangle! Paranhos is fighting it off but it's all too little too late - Maradona pulls down on the head and he's put Paranhos to sleep! This one is all over!
