Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the super heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 6 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Baraka Tarkatan!
The judges for this bout are Aafke Stam, Paulsen Ambrosius and Albert Achterberg.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

John drops down and drives through with a powerful takedown into guard.

John passes easily into side control. Nice work.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Tarkatan stops John from passing to mount.
We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Tarkatan can do anything to dispel that myth.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.
John tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Tarkatan swivels and escapes.
Tarkatan shoots in but no luck this time.
John avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
John shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it.
Tarkatan tries to close the distance and clinch but John swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.

and John counters with a single leg into guard. Tarkatan didn't expect that.

Tarkatan wants to stand up, so he's looking to wriggle free of John's closed guard. He's half up but John has locked on to an arm! Uh oh! John pivots and extends the arm, Tarkatan falls face first to the mat and taps??... does he?? YES! He's tapping! Excellent counter grappling there by John! Well done that man!
