Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

The judges for this bout are Luis Engracia, Mauricio Rocha and Paulo Santos.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Whippet tries to clinch up but Palhares circles away and keeps his distance.
Whippet throws a leg kick but Palhares sees it coming and checks it nicely.
Palhares avoids the head kick by Whippet.
Whippet tries a head kick but it misses.
A head kick from Whippet lands but Palhares takes it in his stride.
Whippet is looking to take this fight into the clinch.
Palhares circles away from the clinch attempt.
Palhares swats away the attempt to clinch by Whippet.
Whippet misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Whippet wants to clinch up but Palhares keeps it at a distance.
Palhares shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Whippet's guard.

Palhares drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Palhares jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.
Whippet is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

Whippet looking to hit a scissor sweep but Palhares is one step ahead there.
Palhares controlling from the guard. I say controlling but really, he's stalling.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Palhares stands and throws Whippet's legs to the side, diving into side control.
Palhares takes a little break here. Whippet wants to take advantage but he is being controlled well.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.
Palhares is looking to take a break and control but Whippet is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.

Whippet on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Whippet tries to get out of the position.
Whippet tries to get back to half guard but can't.
Whippet is letting Palhares control him for a moment.
Palhares is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Whippet is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now.

Whippet is looking to get back to his feet here but Palhares is keeping cool and he's managed to take Whippet's back.
Palhares really has the hooks in deep now - there seems like no escape for Whippet.
Palhares is looking to control Whippet but Whippet is wriggling around and keeping busy.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.
Despite being in the dominant position, Housimar Palhares just isn't active enough and the referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
A telegraphed right hand from Palhares misses the target.
The fight stays on the outside here - Whippet looks like he's thinking about clinching though.
Whippet tries to close the distance and clinch up but Palhares swats him away and circles back towards the center.
Whippet misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Whippet has his head snapped back a nice jab. A little nod from Whippet there as he acknowledges the shot.
Whippet darts in and clinches Palhares up against the cage.
Palhares jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Whippet walks away with a smile on his face. Palhares gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head.
Palhares blocks a leg kick.
Tad Whippet is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
A head kick misses from Whippet.
Palhares checks a leg kick.
Palhares tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Whippet was well out of range. Poor timing from Palhares.
Palhares shoots in with a lovely double leg takedown. Whippet manages to land in full guard to minimise the damage.
Palhares pushes down on Whippet's leg and manages to get into half guard.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Housimar Palhares dominated that round.
The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action!
The fight stays on the outside here - Whippet looks like he's thinking about clinching though.
Palhares swats away the attempt to clinch by Whippet.
Whippet throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
Palhares shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Whippet defends it nicely.
Palhares takes a swing at Whippet's ribcage but misses.
Palhares decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard.

Whippet is trying to stand back up but Palhares is controlling him

Palhares works his foot free and advances to mount.
Palhares has isolated one of Whippet's arms. Whippet looking to fight him off but Palhares twists into an armbar. It's tight... Will he tap?? YES, he's tapped! This one is all over!
