The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Zombie keeps the fight on the outside.
A head kick misses from Zombie.
Wilson uses good footwork to avoid the strikes from Zombie.
Zombie is looking to clinch but Wilson is avoiding it.
Zombie lands an overhand left. A wild punch that just about connected.

Wilson moves into the clinch successfully.

Wilson breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.

Zombie sets himself and throws a head kick that knocks Wilson to the ground! Zombie dives into full mount looking to finish!

It looks like Don Wilson has been cut.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Wilson tries to hold on but Zombie pushes him away.
Zombie tucks in and makes sure he doesn't lose the dominant position.

Wilson wriggling around on the bottom manages to avoid the strikes thrown by Zombie.
Wilson is in a horrible position here, under a barrage of strikes, he's managing to avoid any damage.

Zombie has control of Wilson's right arm, working for a kimura. It's a bit of a token attempt though and Wilson regains control of the situation pretty easily.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Wilson is really trying hard to get back to his feet.

Wilson drops back looking for a heel hook - he quickly realises he's not going to get it but Zombie manages to dive on top of him before he can escape and now Wilson has Zombie in his guard.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.
Zombie is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control.

Wilson kicks Zombie off and gets to his feet.

Zombie decides he's had enough of playing guard and decides to stand. Come on Wilson, up you get!

Wilson shoots in looking for a takedown. Zombie tries to sprawl out of it but Wilson keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Zombie manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.

Zombie leaves Wilson with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.
Zombie tries to bum rush Wilson with a series of wild strikes but Wilson uses good footwork to avoid the assault.

Zombie jumps guard but Wilson stands there with Zombie around his waist. Zombie gives up and drops back to his feet. We remain in the clinch.

The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.

Zombie ties up his opponent against the cage and manages to drag the fight down to the ground. Zombie no doubt will be looking to work submissions from his guard.
