Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Williams bobs and weaves well there to avoid the strikes.
Williams moves away from the strike by Yip Man.
Williams moves out of range as Yip Man strikes.
Rex Williams seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Williams closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Williams lands in his opponent's guard.

Williams is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there.
Williams wants to pass the guard but Yip Man is keeping the position.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

The fighters circling - Yip Man throws out the jab but it was never going to land.
Williams shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Yip Man but Yip Man pushes him off and we're back to square one.
Grandmaster Yip Man has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Rex Williams.
Williams closes the distance and clinches up with Yip Man, looking for a takedown. Williams pushes Yip Man against the cage but Yip Man circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.
Williams steps to the side to avoid the strikes from Yip Man.

and Williams counters with a nice double leg into side control. Yip Man won't be happy with that.

Williams thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead.
Williams with the ground and pound but Yip Man regains half guard under the barage of strikes.
Yip Man looks like he's trying to stand up.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Williams is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. Yip Man doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Williams.
Williams thows a wild elbow that connects with the canvas.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Rex Williams dominated that round.
That's time! Yip Man's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.


Williams pivots as if he's going to throw a leg kick but stops half way.
Yip Man thows a left - swing and a miss!
The fighters circle momentarily. Yip Man darts into range and connects with a nice straight punch.
Williams shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Yip Man but Yip Man pushes him off and we're back to square one.
Yip Man stuffs the takedown.
Williams looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Yip Man is fending him off so far but Williams persists. Nope, Yip Man circles away and we're back to standing.
Grandmaster Yip Man has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Rex Williams.

Williams walks forward and throws out a flicking leg kick. Yip Man checks it nicely though, as he moves to the side.

Well, he's not going to score with shots like that. A lazy body kick attempt from Williams.
Yip Man waving his hands out in front of him, looking to distract Williams.
Williams changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Yip Man tries to avoid it but Williams manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Yip Man to the ground. Yip Man escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
Yip Man lands an overhand right.
Yip Man really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.

Williams needs to keep his hands up - Yip Man had a free shot at his head there.
Williams attempts a leg kick but it's missed by a good margin.

Williams shoots in looking for a takedown. Yip Man tries to sprawl out of it but Williams keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Yip Man manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.

Williams misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out.
Yip Man blocks a head kick by Williams.
Yip Man is using his reach advantage well here, landing the more effective single shots from range.
Yip Man will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
Rex Williams is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
Yip Man throws a right and a left that both miss.
Williams changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Yip Man tries to avoid it but Williams manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Yip Man to the ground. Yip Man escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
Williams throws a body kick but he wasn't in range.
Williams shoots for a double leg takedown but Yip Man sprawls well. He's pushed Williams's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.
Yip Man keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl.
Williams has his head slapped from side to side by a 3 punch combination. That must have hurt him.

Williams shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Yip Man pinned against the cage. Yip Man gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.
Williams is trying hard to land a takedown here. Yip Man sprawls well and keeps this one on the feet.

Williams shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Yip Man as he jumps to the side.
Williams closes the distance and takes a jab right on the nose as he does so.
Yip Man lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.


Williams is rocked!
Yip Man lands with an uppercut that bounces Williams off the cage and back into rage.
Williams is still on wobbly legs! Can Yip Man finish him?
Yip Man cracks Williams with a hook to the temple - Williams is on wobbly legs here! Yip Man swarms him with hook after hook, landing with each one! Williams falls to the canvas face first and the referee dives in to stop the fight! Yip Man wins by TKO!
