Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Jake Benevidi (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Samsara Sovzyeski (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Samsara Sovzyeski!
The judges for this bout are Fedor Mirinova, Aleksandr Martynov and Igor Prikhodko.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Benevidi throws out a loose jab but Sovzyeski uses good head movement to avoid it.
Sovzyeski bobbing and weaving, closes the distance and lands a hook to the side of Benevidi's head.
Sovzyeski connects with a lovely right hand, straight down the pipe.
Danga de danga de dang - Benevidi scores with a four punch combination!
Sovzyeski circles away from the clinch attempt.
Benevidi takes a jab right on the nose. That must have hurt but he shrugs his shoulders and looks to return the favor.

Sovzyeski lands a left and a right that send Benevidi crashing to the mat, dazed. Sovzyeski thinks about following him to the mat but decides to wave him back up to his feet!


Benevidi is rocked!
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Benevidi shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Sovzyeski sprawls well. Sovzyeski wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Benevidi gets slowly back to his feet.
Oh Benevidi is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!
Nice uppercut there from Benevidi.
Benevidi seems to have got his legs back now.
Benevidi scores with the left hand. Sovzyeski knows he should have avoided that one.
Benevidi looks for a takedown but Sovzyeski sprawls well.
Benevidi fails to land the takedown.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Jake Benevidi. That's going to take a lot out of him.

Benevidi throws a left and a right that both miss
and Sovzyeski counters with a three punch combo that has Benevidi backing up. Benevidi nods at Sovzyeski to acknowledge the strikes.
Sovzyeski throws a shot from downtown. Benevidi moves away and avoids it.
Sovzyeski ducks under a wild hook from Benevidi.
A telegraphed right hand from Benevidi misses the target.

Sovzyeski fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Benevidi, pushing him back against the cage.
This is turning into a torrid day at the office for Benevidi. He's trying desperately to land a takedown but he's failing miserably and getting slapped silly on the feet to compound his misery.
Benevidi goes for a takedown in the clinch but Sovzyeski prevents it.

Sovzyeski breaks the clinch.
Sovzyeski keeps the fight on the outside.
Sovzyeski steps to the side to avoid the strikes from Benevidi.
Sovzyeski moves out of range as Benevidi strikes.
Sovzyeski lands with a right hand.
Sovzyeski cracks Benevidi with a nice right hand that draws applause from the crowd.
Sovzyeski lands a nice shot to the body.
Benevidi is breathing heavily.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Sovzyeski connects with a crisp jab.

That's two minutes gone in the round.

Sovzyeski cracks Benevidi with a big right hand that sends him to the floor! Benevidi looks wobbly but he's sprung back up to his feet straight away… can Sovzyeski finish him?
Sovzyeski lands an uppercut out of nowhere! Benevidi falls backwards - clearly groggy! Sovzyeski dives in and finishes the fight with more strikes for a TKO finish!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:14 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Samsara Sovzyeski!
