Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Phim Moran (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Efrain Escudero (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Fingers crossed for an exciting fight - I'm sure both fighters are looking for a nice under the table bonus!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Phim Moran!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Efrain Escudero!
The judges for this bout are Daniel Franklin, Tiny Johnson and Gwen Towbar.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Escudero drives through with a takedown into guard.
Escudero controls from within his opponent's guard.

Moran is looking for a triangle but Escudero pushes his legs off easily.
Escudero controlling from the top position.
Moran trying to keep a closed guard but Escudero is proving a slippery customer.
Escudero content to stall in guard here.
Moran is trying to control the position from the bottom.
Escudero is just sitting in guard, looking to avoid any submissions.
Let's hope that Escudero has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight.

I looks like Escudero might be adopting somewhat of a lay and pray gameplan here, which I'm sure won't go down too well with the paying fans in attendance... Or the ring announcers come to think of it.

so Escudero counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility.
Moran is trying to stand up but he's not managed so far.
Moran controls Escudero momentarily but Escudero frees himself.

and Escudero counters with a nice double leg into side control. Moran won't be happy with that.

Efrain Escudero showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action! This is the final round!



Escudero bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control.
You can see the frustration on Moran's face as Escudero controls the position.

A bit of a lull in the action. I'm sure it will pick up again soon... even if the ref has to physically pick them up and put them back on their feet.

and Escudero counters with a nice single leg takedown and he's in Moran's guard now.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.

Phim Moran has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!
