Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Jimmy Corn (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Vincent Villanova (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Vincent Villanova will no doubt be trying to keep this one on the feet, where he has a distinct advantage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Jimmy Corn!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Vincent Villanova!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Villanova shoots in but no luck this time.
Villanova looks really tired already! That doesn't bode well for a good, competitive fight!

Corn shoots in for a takedown from distance. He catches Villanova napping and manages to drive through into side control!
Villanova is trying to escape the position but Corn is controlling the position.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

The referee tells the fighters to keep busy.
Corn's ground tactics aren't going to win him many fans. Let's hope he's got fireworks for us if he gets back to his feet because he's not doing much on the ground.
Villanova wants to escape from the position here - easier said than done!

Villanova can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as Corn controls the pace.
Corn has controlled the position for a good 20 seconds, which will no doubt be starting to frustrate his opponent.
Corn slips effortlessly into side control - very nice.
Corn has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.
A bit of a lull in the action. I'm sure it will pick up again soon... even if the ref has to physically pick them up and put them back on their feet.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.

Corn rushes Villanova and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch.

Corn moves in looking to clinch but Villanova pushes him off.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.
The crowd growing excited in anticipation of a finish here! Right on cue, Corn cracks his opponent with a massive right hand that draws loud cheers!

Corn looks for a takedown. He's got it. We're now in half guard.

Corn moves into full mount! Villanova won't be happy about that!
Villanova wants to hold on but Corn pushes him away.

My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer.

That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action. This is the final round!



Corn closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the cage.

Corn is trying to trip Villanova. He has hold of a leg but Villanova is hopping around, keeping his balance for the moment. Corn persists though and gets the takedown into guard.
Corn in full guard, throwing the ground and pound. No damage this time.

Villanova takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.

Jimmy Corn overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.

Villanova is trying to defend against the ground and pound but Corn scores with a couple of nice shots.

Well Corn has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
