Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, David Griffin!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Fard Tard!
The judges for this bout are David Schapiro, Columbo Gatti and Lou da Vinci.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Griffin throws a nice hook to the body that draws an oooh from the crowd.
Tard takes one on the chin but keeps coming.
David Griffin seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Griffin misses with a double jab.
Tard has his head snapped back a nice jab. A little nod from Tard there as he acknowledges the shot.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Tard showing good head movement there, avoiding the strikes from Griffin.
Griffin stuffs the takedown attempt from Tard. Tard gets slowly back to his feet.

Tard closes the distance and clinches.

Tard has clasped his hands together around Griffin's back... aaand, he's got a takedown into side control. Nicely done.
Griffin is trying to stand back up. He's worked his way up against the cage but Tard has just dragged him back down to the mat.
Tard wants to lay and pray for a moment but Griffin keeps working.
Tard throwing ground and pound but whilst doing so, he forgets to control position and Griffin works his way back to half guard. Good composure under pressure.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Tard prevents Griffin from standing back up.
Tard throwing shots but Griffin is blocking nicely.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up.
Griffin connects with the punch.
Tard fails with a takedown attempt.
Tard looks gassed!
Griffin connects with a lovely right hand, straight down the pipe.
Griffin slips in close and lands a nice hook before moving back out of range.
Tard dodges the punch combination from Griffin.

That's two minutes gone in the round.

Tard instigates a clinch.
Griffin jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Tard walks away with a smile on his face. Griffin gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head.
Tard takes a jab right on the kisser.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Tard takes a punch to the jaw and another one to the bread basket.
Griffin tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Tard was well out of range. Poor timing from Griffin.

Griffin lands a left and a right that send Tard crashing to the mat, dazed. Griffin thinks about following him to the mat but decides to wave him back up to his feet!


Tard is rocked!


It looks like Fard Tard has been cut.
Griffin closes the distance and lands a vicious right hand that drops Tard! Griffin dives in looking to finish! Tard is still trying to defend himself but he's taking too many shots and the referee has no choice but to stop the fight!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:37 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). David Griffin!
