And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 12 - 7 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Marvin Heemeyer!
The judges for this bout are Damien Edna, Skip Squint and Bruno Hogan.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Heemeyer throws a sloppy head kick and Friedhelm moves out of range easily.
Friedhelm shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Heemeyer as he avoids it easily.
Friedhelm fails to land the takedown.
Friedhelm shoots in and drives through. Heemeyer sprawls well.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Karlmann Friedhelm. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Friedhelm throws a big shot that misses.
Friedhelm tries for a takedown but Heemeyer sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily.
Heemeyer is looking to clinch but Friedhelm is avoiding it.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.

Friedhelm has an omoplata and is looking to use it perhaps as a submission or perhaps to transition. Heemeyer is in a bit of discomfort here, but he's managed to free himself and has dived into side control! That didn't work out too well for Friedhelm.

That was a close round but I would say that Karlmann Friedhelm will probably get the nod.
OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.

Friedhelm shoots for a double leg takedown but Heemeyer sprawls well. He's pushed Friedhelm's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.

Heemeyer shoots in looking for a takedown. Friedhelm tries to sprawl out of it but Heemeyer keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Friedhelm manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.

Heemeyer throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.

Heemeyer unloads a knee to the mid-section. Friedhelm lets out a prehistoric sounding urrrrgh.

Friedhelm had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Heemeyer defends it easily.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Friedhelm looking to sweep using the butterfly guard but Heemeyer puts pay to that idea as he passes nicely into half guard.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Marvin Heemeyer showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business. So, we enter the final round. Let's see if either fighter can bring us a finish, or whether we're going to the judges scorecards.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Friedhelm wants to free his trapped foot but Heemeyer is holding on for dear life with his legs.
The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Friedhelm connects with a nice short shot to Heemeyer's temple.

Friedhelm goes for an armbar but he's not got it… Heemeyer turns into him and now he's in Friedhelm's guard.

I think Heemeyer has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
