Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Shizuka Uesugi (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Joe Slow (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Shizuka Uesugi has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Slow clobbers Uesugi with an overhand right that has the crowd gasping. That made a horrendous noise.

It looks like Shizuka Uesugi has been cut.
Uesugi tries to check the leg kick but that clearly hurt him.

Slow throws a series of punches but Uesugi moves out of range.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.

It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground.
Slow throws a right and a left that both miss.

Uesugi feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.

Uesugi swings around for an armbar but it's a sloppy attempt and Slow is now in Uesugi's guard. A big mistake from Uesugi there, giving up the dominant position!
Slow is working Uesugi over from the guard. He should look to pass the guard and do a little more damage with these strikes.

Slow is holding a leg here, probably looking for an ankle lock - he drops back and goes for it! Uesugi is in trouble! Is it all over??? No! Uesugi has escaped and now he's on top!

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.
Uesugi won't allow Slow to get back to his feet.

The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up.
Slow throws a combination that misses
and Uesugi counters with a nice jab to the body that keeps Slow thinking.

Uesugi fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Slow sprawls well initially but Uesugi persists and gets the takedown into half guard.

Uesugi is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Slow defends it well.
Slow is working for an escape here. He's hooked one of Uesugi's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take Uesugi's back!
