Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Troll Skog (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Astro Boy (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Troll Skog has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 9 - 7 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Troll Skog!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 4 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Astro Boy!
The judges for this bout are Ren Mimura, Hirohito Nitta and Taro Takaoka.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Boy misses with a wild body shot.
Skog throws a sloppy head kick and Boy moves out of range easily.

Boy drops Skog with a hook right on the temple. He thinks about going to the ground but Skog looks back up at him and smiles so Boy waves him back to his feet - he obviously thinks he can knock him out after that shot landed.
Skog thuds his right hand into Boy's forehead from close range. That could be painful for both fighters.
Skog takes a punch right to his stomach. That took the wind out of him momentarily.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Boy misses with a body shot.
Boy misses the jab.
Boy tries to score a power double leg takedown but Skog sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Boy somewhat.
Boy throws a wild combination but nothing lands.
Skog fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.
Boy throws an overhand right that lands on Skog's shoulder, as Skog tries to avoid the shot.

Skog feints and as Boy raises his hands in defense, Skog changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard.

Skog got a little sloppy there for a moment and Boy has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Skog has managed to get both his arms back between Boy's legs - danger averted.
Boy can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as Skog controls the pace.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Boy is trying to keep Skog in close.

Skog decides to stand up and beckons his opponent to follow.
Boy tries to clinch but Skog moves out of range.
Skog takes a punch right to his stomach. That took the wind out of him momentarily.
Boy shoots in but doesn't get the takedown
and Skog counters with a one-two to the body.
Boy looks gassed!
Boy scores with a reasonable looking shot to the body. Skog doesn't seem bothered though.
Boy looks to clinch
and Skog counters with a left and a right that stings Boy.
Boy closes the distance looking to clinch
and Skog counters with a quick right hand to the jaw.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Skog throws a wild combination but nothing lands.
Skog lands a glancing blow to the side of Boy's head.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Boy with a poor takedown

and Skog counters with a nice double leg into guard.
Troll Skog has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Astro Boy.
Boy wants to control but Skog passes easily into half guard.
Skog passes the half guard and he's now in mount! Big trouble for Boy!
A nice elbow there by Skog.

Skog with some aggressive grappling here. He's looking for submissions here, rather than waiting for the opportunity to counter.
Boy is trying to get to the cage to help him get back to his feet.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Boy tries to lock up and control but Skog gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away.
Skog tucks in and makes sure he doesn't lose the dominant position.
Boy really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Skog. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

Skog is standing up out of mount! Strange tactic there - he must really want this one on the feet!
Boy throws a left and a right that both miss
and Skog counters with a kick to the head that grazes his opponent. Boy is lucky that one didn't land flush.

Skog instigates a clinch.
Boy blocks an elbow strike.
Skog tries a knee to the head but Boy blocks it.
Nice body punch from Skog.
Skog drops down looking for an ankle pick but Boy pulls his leg out and moves away.
Boy throws a jab but it's blocked by Skog.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Boy tries for a takedown but Skog circles away easily
letting Skog counter with a right hand.
Boy slips a straight right by Skog.

Skog has taken the fight to the clinch.
Skog tries for a takedown but Boy manages to get underhooks.
Skog creates a bit of distance and throws an elbow that only just misses.
Boy pushes Skog back against the cage and lands a hook to the side of the head.
Boy takes a knee right on the jaw!
A nice left hand lands by Boy.
Boy tries to pull guard but Skog won't allow it.
Boy managing to block the knees to the body from Skog.
Boy lands a short shot on the inside that snaps the head of Skog backwards.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Boy has had enough of the clinch but Skog keeps him there for the moment.
Skog throws a nice elbow but it doesn't land.
A knee to the head by Skog.
The fighters are pressed against the cage, as the pace of the fight slows.
Boy blocks an elbow strike from Skog.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Troll Skog dominated that round.
The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action!


Boy doesn't succeed with the takedown
and Skog counters with a head kick.
Skog moves out of range of the strikes.
Astro Boy seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

and Skog counters with a nice single leg takedown and he's in Boy's guard now.
Skog controls the pace of the fight for a moment.
Boy throws a couple of shots from the bottom but they don't land.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Skog won't allow Boy to get back to his feet.
Skog slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Skog slips effortlessly into side control - very nice.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
Skog moves into full mount!

That's one minute gone in the round.
Skog sitting in mount, just looking to control for the moment.
Skog's ground tactics aren't going to win him many fans. Let's hope he's got fireworks for us if he gets back to his feet because he's not doing much on the ground.
Boy is looking to get to half guard.
Skog looking to control and managing it successfully.
Boy working to try and regain half guard.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.
Skog blocks Boy's feeble attempts to strike from the bottom.
Skog controlling the pace for now.

Boy tries to improve his position but Skog has taken his back! Skog has a choke - it's sunk in pretty tight... Will Boy tap? No... maybe... yes! He's tapped! Skog pushes Boy away and gets up to celebrate with his corner!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:44 of round 2, we have a winner by way of Submission (RNC). Troll Skog!
