PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Jeffe Zampietre (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and MF Doom (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). MF Doom told me before the fight that he's been watching a lot of DVDs so let's see if that helps him in this one! I can't wait to find out!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Doom gets to the clinch - let's see what his plan is here.

Doom is pressed up against the cage. Zampietre has hold of a leg and is looking to drag Doom down to the mat. Doom avoids the attempt though and has circled away. We're back to striking at a distance.
MF Doom seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Zampietre is trying to control the action in half guard but Doom is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard.

Zampietre wants to work for an arm triangle but Doom is really keeping half guard well and defending the submission attempt.

Doom really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Zampietre. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

Doom is trying to stand up here but Zampietre is controlling him well.
Zampietre has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.
Zampietre wants to take a breather but Doom is having none of it.

The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up.

Doom tries to close the distance and clinch but Zampietre swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.
Zampietre shoots in for a double leg but Doom sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.

and Doom counters with a three punch combination, finished off with a leg kick. Nice work.

A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.
Zampietre dives in and grabs Doom's left leg, looking for a takedown. Doom pushes down on Zampietre's head and hops out.
Doom is looking to clinch.
MF Doom is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Doom tries to clinch there but Zampietre circles away.
Doom closes the distance looking to clinch

and Zampietre counters with a driving takedown into guard. Nice work there by Zampietre.

Zampietre has Doom pressed up against the cage. He's trying to work for a single leg takedown. Zampietre pulls back from the cage and twists to the side, sending Doom tumbling to the mat - Zampietre dives into Doom's guard.
