The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Dunaev keeping his hands up high there, blocking the jab from Makkunouchi.
Makkunouchi looks to throw the jab but Dunaev is out of range.
Dunaev lands with a slapping head kick.

It looks like Ippo Makkunouchi has been cut.
Makkunouchi tries to clinch but Dunaev moves out of range.
Dunaev lands with a kick to the temple. Makkunouchi shrugs as if to say "is that all you've got?"
Makkunouchi doesn't manage to clinch there - Dunaev circles away.
Makkunouchi tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion.
Makkunouchi tries to clinch up but Dunaev circles away and keeps his distance.
Dunaev lands with a nice low kick. That'll leave a bruise.
Dunaev connects with a high kick.

Dunaev avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
Dunaev lands an overhand right.
Dunaev lands with a two punch combination before moving back out of range.
Dunaev misses with a few strikes there.
Dunaev lands a head kick. Makkunouchi smiles back at him and beckons him forward.

That has opened up Ippo Makkunouchi's cut even more.
Makkunouchi is looking to clinch but Dunaev is avoiding it.
Dunaev throws a body kick that digs right into the meat.
Makkunouchi tries to clinch but Dunaev is having none of it.
Dunaev throws a head kick that Makkunouchi semi-blocks.

Makkunouchi is rocked!

The cut above Ippo Makkunouchi's eye is starting to cause him problems now.
Dunaev bobs and weaves well there to avoid the strikes.
Makkunouchi keeps the fight on the outside.
Dunaev keeps Makkunouchi at a distance using the push kick.
Makkunouchi looks gassed!
Whack! Dunaev lands a heavy head kick that drops Makkunouchi. The ref tackles Dunaev to stop the fight - a great save by the referee because Makkunouchi was done.
