Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Franco Merallio (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Ante Gattuso (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both these guys have solid standup skills and neither is particularly fantastic on the ground, so let's hope for a nice standup war!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

0 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Ante Gattuso!
The judges for this bout are Anni Minnemäki, Matti Vanhoillinen and Roosa Järviläinen.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Gattuso dives in and grabs Merallio's left leg, looking for a takedown. Merallio pushes down on Gattuso's head and hops out.
Gattuso shoots in for a takedown and gets it.
Merallio wants to control but Gattuso is keeping busy.
Merallio tries to roll over but Gattuso keeps him under control.
Merallio flails away from the bottom but he's not doing any damage.
Gattuso stalling away here and it's allowed Merallio to slip out his trapped foot and regain full guard.
Merallio on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Merallio tries to get out of the position.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Gattuso trying to control the position from guard on top but Merallio is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Merallio is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Gattuso is controlling him.
Merallio is trying to keep Gattuso in close.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up.
Merallio avoids a punch combination nicely.
Merallio is looking to clinch but Gattuso is avoiding it.
Gattuso moves away from the strike by Merallio.
Ante Gattuso seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Merallio shoots in but doesn't get the takedown
and Gattuso decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Merallio's guard.
Merallio looking to control.
Gattuso postures up in Merallio's guard and throws a big left but Merallio blocks it.
Gattuso trying to control the position from guard on top but Merallio is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Merallio is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.
Merallio is trying to control the action in half guard but Gattuso is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard.

Gattuso is looking to get back to is feet but Merallio passes into side control.
Gattuso tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Merallio wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control.
You can see the frustration on Gattuso's face, being in this tough position on the bottom.
The referee tells the fighters to keep busy.
That's three minutes gone in the round.
Gattuso wants to escape from the position here - easier said than done!
Gattuso is trying to get back to half guard.
The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
Gattuso will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
Gattuso connects with a crisp jab.
It looks like Franco Merallio has been cut.
Merallio fails with an attempt to clinch.
Gattuso shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Merallio sprawls well. Merallio wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Gattuso gets slowly back to his feet.
Gattuso slips a jab and a cross from Merallio.
Merallio getting the better of the striking in that exchange.

Gattuso stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Gattuso wants it to stay on the feet.
Both fighters step back and shake their arms out. Gattuso engages and cracks Merallio with a massive lead left hook - Merallio tumbles to the floor, out cold! What a shot! Gattuso is delighted - all that hard work in training paid off!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:10 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Punch). Ante Gattuso!
