Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Mikko Jagger (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Steve Rice (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Chooooooooon! I think Jagger might be my favorite fighter, now he's come out to Rolling Stones - Paint It Black. Rice has chosen AC/DC - Thunderstruck as his entrance music. Mikko Jagger is staring across the cage at his opponent, tweaking his nipples... Tweaking his own nipples that is.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 4 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Mikko Jagger!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 4 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Steve Rice!
The judges for this bout are Robert Douchet, Ian Loll and Alec Ball.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Nice sprawl there from Rice as Jagger shoots in.
Rice throws a series of punches but Jagger moves out of range.
Rice scores with a nice one two combo and darts back out of range to avoid anything coming in the opposite direction.
Rice thows a left - swing and a miss!
Jagger closes the distance and clinches up with Rice, looking for a takedown. Jagger pushes Rice against the cage but Rice circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.
Jagger defends well against a solid takedown attempt from Rice.
Rice fakes a head shot and lands one to the body.
Rice shakes his hands off, looking to compose himself, but takes a jab to the jaw whilst he does it.
A looping hook to the body misses from Jagger. Rice does a little dance to reset his feet.
Rice looking to throw a kick but he's pulled out of it.
Jagger lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.
Jagger lands an overhand left. A wild punch that just about connected.
Jagger throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
Rice avoids a punch combination nicely.
Jagger lands an overhand right.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Rice will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.

Jagger closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Jagger lands in his opponent's guard.

Jagger drops back looking for a heel hook - he quickly realises he's not going to get it but Rice manages to dive on top of him before he can escape and now Jagger has Rice in his guard.

Rice distracts Jagger with his right hand and drops a big elbow with his other arm.

Jagger is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle.

Rice wants to control from the top but Jagger keeps moving.

My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer.

Jagger lands a beautiful switch and he's in full mount! That could spell trouble for Rice!
Jagger misses with a series of strikes from mount. He'll no doubt be working on his ground and pound when he gets back to the gym.
Rice is really trying hard to get back to his feet.

Rice holding onto his opponent's waist for dear life, as Jagger tries to land some strikes to get him to release his grip.
Jagger can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Rice is looking to escape.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.
Jagger lands a heavy elbow.
Jagger misses with a head shot.

Jagger moves into side control, trying to work for a kimura. That looks painful! Will he finish!!?? No, Rice has worked his arm free - good work by Rice!
Jagger creates some space and throws a big elbow, but Rice sees it coming and moves his head just enough to avoid the strike.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Jagger misses with the ground and pound.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close round but I would say that Mikko Jagger will probably get the nod.
That's time! Jagger's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.


Jagger bobs and weaves well there to avoid the strikes.

Jagger throws an overhand right that lands on Rice's shoulder, as Rice tries to avoid the shot.
Rice misses with a wild body shot.

Rice takes a shot to the body in his stride.
Jagger slips a jab and a cross from Rice.

Jagger has Rice up against the cage in a clinch.
Still in the clinch, Jagger scores with a nice short uppercut.

Rice breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
Mikko Jagger is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
Rice takes a hook to the side of the head. I wonder if that's got his ears ringing.
Some wild striking there from Jagger.

Jagger rushes Rice and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch.
Rice is trying to break the clinch but Jagger has him pressed against the cage.

Jagger has double underhooks and is working for a body lock takedown. He's got it. The fighters land in half guard but Rice regains guard immediately.

Jagger has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.

Rice is trying to stand up but he's not managed so far.
Jagger throws and elbow that misses. Rice uses the momentum to reverse the position. He's now in Jagger's guard. Nice move by Rice!

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.
Rice throws a big right hand that misses.

The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up.
Jagger fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Rice manages to avoid it.
Rice throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Jagger.
Rice looks to land a combination but Jagger avoids it well.

Well, he's not going to score with shots like that. A lazy body kick attempt from Rice.
Rice bobs and weaves well there to avoid the strikes.

Jagger is working for an escape here. He's hooked one of Rice's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take Rice's back!
Jagger is working the ground and pound here and the referee is taking a close look at Rice. He must escape soon or this one will be stopped.

Rice uses good footwork to get in and out and land a nice right hand before Jagger has time to react.
Rice rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Jagger moves out of range and avoids them all easily.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Rice lands with an uppercut that bounces Jagger off the cage and back into rage.

Rice kicks Jagger off and gets to his feet.

Jagger lands a nice hook to Rice's body. Rice takes it in his stride and looks to land his own strikes.
Rice tries to land a front kick but Jagger steps back. That was a bit too telegraphed.
Jagger tries to bum rush Rice with a series of wild strikes but Rice uses good footwork to avoid the assault.

Rice swings for the body but Jagger moves out of range.

Jagger closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard.
Jagger is looking to advance position but Rice won't allow it.

Jagger decides to stand up and try his luck on the feet.
Rice throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
Jagger misses with a wild body shot.
Rice throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land.
Rice ducks under an overhand right and circles away with a smile on his face.
Jagger shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Rice but Rice pushes him off and we're back to square one.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Mikko Jagger. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Rice is trying hard to land a takedown here. Jagger sprawls well and keeps this one on the feet.
Jagger loads up on a big right hand but Rice slips the punch.

Rice got a little sloppy there for a moment and Jagger has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Rice has managed to get both his arms back between Jagger's legs - danger averted.

Jagger is edging up against the cage. He's using the cage to get back to his feet. Nice work there - the fighters are clinched.
Jagger wants to get back to striking at distance but Rice won't allow it.

Jagger lands a hook that snaps the head of Rice backwards.

Jagger breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.

Jagger's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.
Jagger shoots in looking for a takedown. Rice tries to sprawl out of it but Jagger keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Rice manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.
Mikko Jagger is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach.

That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Mikko Jagger.
Well I reckon that's a shut out for Jagger, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
