The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Negrete shoots in and drives through. Jaa sprawls well.
Jaa lands a nice hook to Negrete's body. Negrete takes it in his stride and looks to land his own strikes.
Horrible takedown by Negrete or perhaps it was just good defense by Jaa which made him look bad.
Jaa connects with a hook to the side of his opponent's head.
Jaa slaps away a takedown attempt from Negrete, before circling back to the center of the mat.
Tony Jaa has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Pepe Negrete.
A head kick from Jaa lands but Negrete takes it in his stride.

It looks like Pepe Negrete has been cut.
Jaa stuns Negrete with a nice body shot, before stepping back out of range.
Negrete misses with a takedown attempt - Jaa sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.

Negrete tries to check the leg kick but that clearly hurt him.

Jaa closes the distance and pushes Negrete back into the cage.

Negrete tries to score a body lock takedown but Jaa shows good agility there to stay on his feet.
Jaa digs a right hand underneath Negrete's ribcage. Negrete let out a lung full of air as it connected.
The two fighters are working to gain dominance in the clinch.
Jaa scores a nice knee to the body.
Jaa lands a left hand that snaps the head of Negrete backwards.

Jaa comes over the top with an elbow. That landed flush.

That has opened up Pepe Negrete's cut even more.
Negrete tries to pull guard but can't drag his opponent to the mat. Jaa just stands there and leans against the cage.

Jaa stalling here - the referee won't stand for too much of that.
Jaa seems to have come into the fight with the intention of avoiding any damage in the clinch, rather than actually showing any aggression.
Jaa lands a glancing elbow in the clinch.

The pace really dropping off here, momentarily.
Jaa is working Negrete over against the cage.

Negrete takes an elbow to the forehead.
Jaa stalls.
The ref breaks the fighters up, due to lack of action by Tony Jaa.
Negrete takes a push kick to the midsection and stumbles backwards.
Jaa fakes and then throws a beautiful body shot. Negrete looks a bit winded and takes a step backwards to take a breath.
Negrete takes a head kick and shrugs it off.

The cut above Pepe Negrete's eye is starting to cause him problems now.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Jaa scores with a hook.
Negrete has his head snapped back a nice jab. A little nod from Negrete there as he acknowledges the shot.

Jaa has taken the fight to the clinch.
Negrete has a body lock and is looking for a takedown. Jaa is bouncing around trying to prevent the takedown and somehow he has indeed managed to stay on his feet.

Pepe Negrete's cut is absolute horrible now. This looks like something out of a horror film with blood covering both fighters.

Negrete is looking for a takedown up against the cage. Jaa gets underhooks though and prevents the takedown attempt.

The referee calls the doctor in to look at Pepe Negrete's cut. Oh no, the doctor has called an end to the bout!
