PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Andrew Carter (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Lo Aria (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Chooooooooon! I think Carter might be my favorite fighter, now he's come out to Walkie Talkie - DJ Shadow. The crowd seem to be enjoying Aria's choice of entrance music: Bruce Lee "Kung Fu Fighting". The fight MMA fans around the world have waited their entire lives for!

With a record of 13 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Lo Aria!
The judges for this bout are Shigeki Sano, Sosuke Kotani and Ren Mimura.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Aria uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Carter.
Aria cracks Carter with a hook to the jaw. Both fighters smile at eachother and high-five before getting back down to business.

Aria thuds his right hand into Carter's forehead from close range. That could be painful for both fighters.

Aria is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.

Carter lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Aria circles away quickly and effectively.

and Carter cracks him with a counter punch right on the button.
Aria tries to close the distance and clinch up but Carter swats him away and circles back towards the center.

Aria uses decent footwork to sidestep a right hand from Carter.
Aria throws the left hand but Carter avoids the punch easily.

Aria misses the shot to the body.
Carter shoots in but doesn't get the takedown
and Aria counters nicely by changing levels and landing a hook to the body.

Carter drops back looking for a leg! Aria is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Aria manages to kick Carter off! Carter jumps back into Aria's guard.

Carter shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Aria pinned against the cage. Aria gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.

That was a close second round but I would say that Andrew Carter will probably get the nod.
That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business. So, we enter the final round. Let's see if either fighter can bring us a finish, or whether we're going to the judges scorecards.

Carter takes a punch right to his stomach. That took the wind out of him momentarily.
Aria catches Carter with a nice straight right. He seems pissed - ooooh, it's on now! On like donkey kong!

Carter shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in full mount! That's better than Carter was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure!

Carter is going oldschool here, as he tries to force Aria to tap using a forearm choke. This isn't 1993 though, so Aria shrugs it off.

Carter uses his free foot to push down on Aria's thigh. Eventually he works his other foot free and he's advanced to mount - this is trouble for Aria.

Aria swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.

Aria stuns Carter with a nice body shot, before stepping back out of range.

Carter has his hands up protecting his head but a hook from Aria finds it's way round the side to connect with Carter's head.
