The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
The fight stays on the outside here - Mcarthy looks like he's thinking about clinching though.
Mcarthy wants to clinch up but Penn keeps it at a distance.
A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Penn.

Penn has hold of a leg and is looking for a trip takedown. Mcarthy avoids it nicely though and we remain in the clinch.

Penn goes for a takedown in the clinch but Mcarthy prevents it.

Penn is looking for a takedown up against the cage. Mcarthy gets underhooks though and prevents the takedown attempt.

Penn gets to his feet and steps away from his opponent.
Penn tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Mcarthy swivels and escapes.

Penn shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in full mount! That's better than Penn was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure!
Penn tucks in and makes sure he doesn't lose the dominant position.
Penn will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.

Penn can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Mcarthy is looking to escape.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.

Penn is giving the impression that he's looking to ground and pound but he switches suddenly into a beautiful far side armbar! Mcarthy is forced to tap! Great finish!
