The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Valadares blocks a head kick by Executioner.
Valadares shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it.
Executioner tries a head kick but it misses.
Nicky Executioner seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

It looks like Nicky Executioner has been cut.
Valadares misses with a looping right.
Valadares stalks Executioner and leaps in with a furious combination of punches. Uppercuts and crosses smash into Executioner's face. Executioner staggers backwards, shaken.

Executioner has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Valadares can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.

Executioner isolates an arm and boxes in a triangle. Valadares stacks Executioner on his neck as he steps over and passes to the side. He's now in a much more dominant position where he can look to do some serious damage. Nice move by Valadares!

Executioner pushes Valadares away and creates a bit of space to escape. He's almost out here... but no, Valadares gets a good hold of his legs and remains firmly in side control.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.
Executioner is trying to get back to half guard.
Executioner gives up the full mount - oops, sloppy defensive grappling there!
Executioner wants to improve position but instead he's given up his back.
You can see the frustration on Executioner's face… He knows he is in trouble unless he improves his position sooner rather than later.
Executioner staying busy and making it hard for Valadares to control.
Valadares is trying to stick to Executioner's back but Executioner is turning into Valadares. He's managed to reverse the position - now he's in Valadares's guard. Polite applause from the crowd in appreciation of some nice Jiu Jitsu by Executioner.
The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.
Executioner won't allow Valadares to sweep him here.

Valadares is trying to stand back up. He's worked his way up against the cage but Executioner has just dragged him back down to the mat.

Executioner goes for an armbar here - this could be all over! But no, Valadares has escaped beautifully and is now on top in side control! Oh, that's unlucky for Executioner but great work by Valadares.

Valadares is sneakily working for an arm triangle but Executioner sees it coming and defends easily.
Executioner is looking to control Valadares's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Executioner avoid being mounted?

The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.
Valadares seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Executioner does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.
Executioner has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Valadares is working away from the top position though.
Executioner might have to switch it up a bit here because his efforts to control Valadares kaven't been going to plan, at least at the current moment in time.

It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground.
Valadares looks to land a combination but Executioner avoids it well.
A lazy left from Valadares finds it's target.

Valadares lands with a nice body punch.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.

Valadares tries to score with an inside leg kick but telegraphs it and Executioner is able to avoid easily.
Valadares catches Executioner with a nice straight right. He seems pissed - ooooh, it's on now! On like donkey kong!
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Both fighters have cut men working on them during the interval.
The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!

Executioner is looking to clinch but Valadares is avoiding it.

Valadares scores with a sloppy punch to the body. Not much technique there but it did the business.

Valadares lands a left and a right that send Executioner crashing to the mat, dazed. Valadares thinks about following him to the mat but decides to wave him back up to his feet!
Executioner is still on wobbly legs! Can Valadares finish him?
Executioner circles to his right, straight into a beautiful hook by Valadares. Executioner falls face first into the canvas - great knockout victory for Valadares!
