Will we see a standup war or will they both decide that a knockout is unlikely and try to win the fight elsewhere?

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Lockley swings for the body but Cruz moves out of range.
Lockley with a body punch. A glancing blow.
Lockley moves into range and throws a lovely three punch combination.

It looks like Santiago Cruz has been cut.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Lockley misses with a double jab.
Cruz could do with loosing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely.
Lockley fakes low and throws an overhand right that catches Cruz on the side of the head.
Lockley cracks the inside of Cruz's front leg.
Cruz is breathing heavily.
Lockley throws a right and a left that both miss.
Good leg kick by Lockley there. It's the ones that make that thud noise that hurt and that was an almighty thud.
Nice body kick there by Lockley.
Lockley swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
Lockley tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion.
Cruz takes a punch right to his stomach. That took the wind out of him momentarily.
A punch lands to the side of Cruz 's head but he takes it in his stride.
Lockley tries to clinch but Cruz is having none of it.

Lockley lands a nice leg kick that just misses Cruz's sensitive parts.
Lockley dances in quickly and lands a nice inside leg kick on Cruz. That did some damage!
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Lockley doesn't manage to clinch there - Cruz circles away.

Lockley connects with a stiff jab that staggers Cruz - oh and he follows up with a huge uppercut that knocks him out cold! Man, that was brutal!
