Cares is bobbing his head along to his entrance song: Shogun Named Marcus. Who Cares is the more experienced fighter, so let's see if that makes a difference tonight.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Cares is looking to clinch but Williams is avoiding it.
Williams moves out of range of the body kick from Cares.
Williams will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.
Williams looks to land a combination but Cares avoids it well.
Cares slips under a jab.

Cares drives through and clinches with Williams against the cage.
Williams is looking to control Cares's arms but Cares gets an underhook and turns him. Now Williams has his back to the cage.

Williams has hold of one of Cares's legs. Cares is fighting the takedown attempt but Williams gets the trip and lands the takedown into guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Cares controls Williams momentarily but Williams frees himself.
Cares manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Williams manages to get himself to full guard.

Cares is trying a forearm choke… I don't think that's going to do much at this level of the game.

Williams is looking to sinch up a gullotine here but Cares pulls his head out easily.
Cares moves nicely into side control.
The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.
Williams is trying to get back to half guard.
Williams knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Cares on the ground.

Cares throwing shots but missing, from side control.
Williams is looking to reverse the position.

The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up.
An inside leg kick from Williams misses.
Cares tries to clinch there but Williams circles away.
Williams goes to the watering hole and comes back with a big thumbs up from the judges as he scores a three punch combo.

Cares is in a horrible position here. Williams smacks him with another shot as he tries to escape the position.

Williams has his opponent pinned against the cage, landing some nasty ground and pound that is really making a bit of a mess out of Cares's face.

Williams can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Cares is looking to escape.

BOOM! Williams connects with a massive shot to the dome!
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.

Cares seems to have recovered his senses.

A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Williams.

Cares clinches up with Williams and pushes him back against the cage.
Cares lands a damaging elbow.
Cares pushes Williams back against the cage and lands a hook to the side of the head.

Cares jumps guard and drags Williams to the mat. He's obviously going to be looking for submissions off his back.
Cares is trying to control the position but Williams postures up.

Cares had isolated an arm as going for an omaplata. Williams is defending the submission well but is in a very vulnerable position. Cares Is leaning forward trying to finish the omaplata but decides to abandon it, and take Williams's back instead.

Cares has his hand under the chin of his opponent looking for the choke. He's nearly got it! This one could be all over! But no, Williams has freed his hand and lives to survive another… well, another couple of seconds at least!

Cares mounts Williams! Really nice guard pass there!

Cares looking for an armbar but decides to keep the dominant position instead.

Cares wants to finish this one by submission but Williams is holding onto his waist, trying to prevent any attacks from Cares.

Cares is working for a guillotine from mount but Williams frees his head quite easily.

Cares jumps to side control looking for an arm triangle but Williams manages to avoid the submission attempt.

Cares has an Americana. Williams didn't react quickly enough there and he's in big trouble now! He tries to squirm out but is forced to tap! Cares is delighted and gyrates infront of the ring girls. They seem to like the attention - it'll be interesting to see if Cares hooks up with any of them at the after show party.
